Martin Keown is and always will be a bit of a self loving bell end.
I said to the Missis that Keown would not say anything positive about us as soon as I saw him on the show and I was right, he just made excuses for the way Wolves played. I‘ve never ever heard him say a good thing about United, no idea why that is but he was true to form.

Janus praised us to high heaven. Loves watching us, we’re his favourite team, playing the best football etc. He then deflated me slightly by saying the reason we don’t blow teams away (for want of better words) is because we lacked that little bit of class when it mattered, the final ball, the ability to finish etc.

I was trying to equate how we can be so good to watch and play such good football at this level and still lack that little bit of class, but of course he’s called it bang on. We get into some fantastic positions, if we could just deliver a better final ball more often and be more clinical in our finishing who knows how far we could go. Hopefully, the extra class needed in this part of our players’ game and better decision making will come along with time spent at this level, although for players who are at the back end of their careers it might be a big ask.

It really is hard to be too critical though, I’ve never been more proud to be a Blade.

It's quite simple really, even though we're part of the footballing land of milk and honey, it's a relative thing and the money we receive, as large as the sums appear, are relative to the market we have to deal in.

Just as we've added a few players this season, and in the process spent far more than we're accustomed to, the strengthening of our squad is ongoing, and with each new recruit we'll be looking to add that bit extra quality, so unless Wilder pulls another rabbit out of the hat, we'll be looking to pay several millions, or even break our existing record recruit. It's what it is, and we can only hope that considering what we're up against that we continue to be innovative and spread our recruiting net far and wide, if only to ensure that we're competing as keenly as is possible.

Don't worry about any body as ugly as Keown. Probably gives him to mind problems.

But he has it spot on, we are lacking that killer instinct at the top, and probably do need to up the class (ability) aspect next window.

Does anybody actually believe this media bias bollox anymore? We're practically media darlings at the moment and we're picking up compliments from every angle. There's always going to be the Keown's who are only interested in talking about their old team's current woes, but on the whole I feel we get very fair treatment from the press and pundits. To be fair, we're playing that well at the moment it would be impossible for anyone to say otherwise without losing all credibility - we're irresistible and it feels so good

Oh FFS first it’s Lawrenson now MOTD, I’ve heard Charlie Nicholas hates us, some Arsenal Ladies player, Danny Mills, Adrian Durham. Who gives a shit about any of it or them? They are paid to have opinions so get over the fact that they do.
I didn't know Danny Mills had played for the Arsenal Ladies team,he does get around.

Agree that there isn't a 'media bias' against United. Indeed, as you say we have never been more in vogue with the national press. That said, it is a real sea change.

What will always remain though and what I think people are picking up on, is the certain individuals who for one reason or another, would begrudge giving United the steam off their piss. There are certain media pundits who I hear / read who you can see it is killing them to actually say anything positive about United. These are the dipshits who get my goat. Fair enough, if we've been crap, call it as it is (I would expect CW to say so anyway), but if we've been food or even really good, would it hurt some of these media types to say it that way as well?

Point in question. Martin Keown. Have you ever heard this lad say anything positive about United? No? Me neither.

And let's not even go with Danny Mills or Garth Crooks who are both stealing wages in their employment.

It doesn't bother me personally as I see plenty of better media types who are giving United great credit and its great to hear. Its more an observation of why certain individuals seemingly dislike United and struggle to disguise it. Each to their own I suppose. I couldn't give two fuks about them and their clubs either so I suppose we are equal.

We have had huge praise at times this season but it’s blatant to see that some are doing it for their own good.

Some say we actually play really good football but they say it very surprisingly. Some live in the dark ages and don’t do their research enough, this Sheffield United have played an unbelievable style of football for at least 3 years so fuck of you condescending twats. Not all of them are, I must add.

5th v 6th? I know, let's bung the match on right at the end. Instead, let's watch Leicester go for the World Diving Championship, has-been Arsenal at plucky Norwich, utter cheat Krul escape a red card and Villa at Man. Utd?

To be honest out of those games ours really is the smallest billing for the neutral.

Wilder out.

Jenas basically said we're the most entertaining team in the prem who he's enjoyed watching the most. I had a sex wee when I heard that!! 🥰

The hipster analysts were on us early - they knew about our unique style and that we were no longer the clog it Bassett-era Blades, or the all effort, no talent Warnock team.
It took time, but the out of touch, cliche spouting grandad TV pundits from Sky and the BBC have finally caught up - we’re playing such a nice brand of football, even they can’t deny it.
Then you’ve your Keowns...he ain’t got shit to say about anyone unless it’s your traditional top 6 teams - if they lose, it’s because they were bad. No credit will be offered to the opposition. And we must remember that in his playing days, Keown was a hybrid of Beckenbauer, Maldini and Passarella. This dude can’t describe what’s staring him in his ugly face, unless it’s in an Arsenal shirt

Having said all that, if Leeds emulate what we’ve achieved next year, you’ll have to swim through the Match of the Day studio due to all the spunk being spilled over Bielsa!

Did Norwich players a huge disservice by saying he would have stopped their goals if he was on the pitch. That was some decent football for their goals

I'd just be amazed that Arsenal conceded any goals at all when Martin Keown was playing for them. No doubt, he stopped every opposition from scoring against Arsenal, and they probably kept clean sheets in all of the games he played in.

He's a legend in his own head only. To most other football fans, hes a first class prat.
