MK Dons have badly handled the whole situation. If they are 'twitchy' it's down to their lack of planning about the significance of this game.

I know there'll be many with tickets who are quite happy to spout the 'well they've given us over 7,000 tickets, we can't complain,' and 'they're only fulfilling the terms and conditions of their Safety Certificate.'

This fixture was published in mid June 2016 and now 3 days before kick off they're getting 'twitchy'.

It's been posted further up on this thread 'they are quite happy slowly building up their support base.' Slow being the appropriate word.

It is NOT a criminal offence to sit in home areas, merely a possible breach of ground regulations. This has been confirmed by both the Northampton police liaison officer who said this prior to the game a few weeks ago and today by the FSF. Therefore, the statement on the club website, which has obviously been sent up by Thames Valley Plod, stating that you may be prosecuted is complete and utter nonsense, don't be put off going in the home end.

They are a family club with middle aged fans and kids and they are really keen on slowly building up their support base.

So the last thing they want is drunk rowdy Blades shouting and swearing intimidating families and kids, pitch invasions, firing flares and smoke bombs etc. It could ruin years of hard work and turn their fragile support base away from football.

By the way I'm not saying that Blades will cause trouble. It will be 99% good natured.
Many will be in very high spirits but a few will no doubt just cross over the boundary.

I'm expecting it to be a great day out and memories that will last a lifetime.
And I'll be there, booked in the Hilton hotel at the stadium and paid £65 quid for a ticket including a meal.

Correct S4, united should have told them to shove their statement up their arse.

Absolutely ridiculous of them to say anyone sat in the home end could be prosecuted. Are they saying that if I fancied going to a game at Anfield/Goodison/Old Trafford then I'd be breaking the law cause I support Sheffield United?

It is indeed laughable and totally impossible to prosecute someone because they want one team to beat another. George Orwell would be proud of them.

I got an email from their customer service manager kindly notifying me that my ticket purchase has been cancelled and talking about criminal prosecution bla-bla. There is a telephone number if I fancy calling her to complain. The refund of my £22 was in a flash, before I even got the email (at 8.24am today). Eh well, the rest of the family will be in the away end, I will not try to give MK my money again...

Glad I wasn't in the trenches with you .

Leeds officially sold 2,951 tickets for their match away at Fulham this season.

The thing is Fulham are unusual in that they have an official neutral stand where anyone can go in.
Of course Leeds fans will want to tell you there wasn't any neutrals in the designated neutral stands.

So any quotes of 7K taken to Fulham are unofficial figures, it's like us saying we took 10K to MKD.
Or porkers say they took 40,000

Another 10,000 blades should go down and have a party outside, how would the MK Police like that :)

Can you imagine being prosecuted for sitting in another area of a stadium

"Yes your honour I watched a football match in the East stand"

Why ?

"Because it was the only seat I could get a ticket your honour"

But that side of the stadium was for home supporters only

"Yes your honour but it was empty and I wanted to watch a football match"

But you shouldn't have been there

"Your honour I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the company I work for has a corporate hospitality package at Arsenal FC and they reward the best performers in the company with a trip to the Emirates Stadium for every Arsenal game regardless of who they support"

Ok case dismissed

With any luck we won't have too!

I have absolutely definitely not got 2 tickets in the home end, but if I did how the fuck am I breaking the law and liable to prosecution? Stupid fucks

Totally the same, me and my mate refused to go in the home end :-/

By the way, has anyone seen the footage of leeds last season vs MK? They did a conga line from the home end to the away fans lol

Last season I went to Old Trafford to watch United play some Lancashire chancers who have nicked half of our name. I was in a posh bit, on a corporate jolly through work. The host chap in the box asked if there were any Blades in there, and indeed there were. None of us got chucked out, arrested, or otherwise bothered by the jolly Mancunians

I agree with your sentiments but I just wonder if there is some pressure being put on us as a club by the football league to show that everything possible is being done to prevent any potential disorder

Let's all be realistic about the setting of records talk ........

We all know who has the record for away following in England, Britain and indeed the world for that matter o_O

Its a well documented fact that the MASSIVE travelling army of pigs is almost always in excess of 50,000 and that they are of course the best fans in the world and they make the most noise and they eat more truffles than any other fans. They always sell out their allocation and the biggest surprise in football is that they don't play all their matches at Wembley stadium to fit in more of their MASSIVE number of grunters ...... o_O:rolleyes:

UTB & FTP

There probably is but that's still no justification to just make up bullshit about criminal prosecutions.

Good point. If the FL were to investigate (if there are issues), The Club could point to all the warnings they gave and say they did all they could. Thus avoiding a big fine and 20pts deduction.

We made an enquiry at weekend for any possible returned tickets....knew the answer to be fair but thought may as well ask.
Of course, there weren't any, but we also asked about corporate tickets and were directed to speak to MK regards those tickets.
As it is, I aren't prepared to pay those prices so we didn't follow it up, but interesting that we were directed to contact them directly.

That's because those tickets aren't part of our allocation. It's purely an MKD initiative and nothing to do with us.

So are united fans allowed in other parts of the ground or not? The statement says not, but there is a chance you can spend a small fortune and go in a corporate stand in the home areas?
Seems to be double standards if you ask me. If you are prepared to part with the dosh you might be considered ok.

Hospitality suite sold out at MK, I tried that last week. I was on the reserve list at Bramall Lane and they phoned me a hour ago saying they had some tickets returned so I've just got ours.

Also the double standards are the safety limit set a figure to allow 7,250 tickets to be sold on the away end
So how can MK Dons decide to sell an extra 250 on the away end if you pay £65 so it includes a meal?
These are normal seat tickets in the upper tier, not tickets in the corporate area.

Officially speaking we will have 7,500 tickets on the away end, which is 250 over the imposed limit.
So who will be prosecuted for breaking their max allowed limit?
It's a joke when you consider MK Dons FC are breaking their own rules that they expect other fans to abide to.

Stranger things have happened. 96 fans die at Hillsborough because they didn't have a safety certificate. Didn't stop them getting another 2 semis and the Euros in 1996 tho.

Only at a laughable excuse of a club like Franchise would you get this sort of police state nonsense.

I have a spare in the away end if you want it. I can meet you in Stony Stratford or near the ground. Let me know.
