Not sour grapes at all, it was just an absolutely disgusting display from MK tonight.

Performances like MK's are embarrassing. We're perfectly capable of accepting defeat, but if we just accept what MK and the officials brought to the Lane tonight then we may as well all pack it in and declare the sport finished.
To the extent of last night? Every other game I've ever watched. When have you known a time where circumstances like last night don't occur in football? People have been bitching and whining about things like that since a ball was first kicked, it's never changed things.

Are you honestly saying that what you saw last night is the sport you pay money to watch?
I'll continue dancing round to Cherry Street and take my shoes off.If we do the same job on Southampton we'll all be dancing down Shoreham Street.
I remember wasn,t it the season we went down.Blades can never be accused of displaying sour grapes. Read Roy's View From.... after every match and just observe how other club supporters show sour grapes towards us. In contrast each game we lose most Blades spend most of the time criticising our team and often praise the opposition.
I would say (generally) we are the most level headed set of supporters.
Last night reminded of the first time I saw Wimbledon (there's an irony). I am sure it was toward the end of a season and I think they stuffed us. Cynical off the ball fouls, continually breaking up the flow of the game MK Dons have become Wimbledon in more ways than one.
No, it was when we went up. In April 1984. Yes cork and Evans scored for them, Morris getting ours. After the 2-1 defeat we had two games left. Two days later we lost 3-1 at Bolton (Edwards getting the vital consolation), a few hours later Hull (our rivals for 3rd promotion place) surprisingly lost at already relegated Port Vale. On the Saturday we beat Newport 2-0 (Edwards & Arnott), Hull failed to score in the home draw against Bristol Rovers which meant Hull had to win by at least 3 goals at Burnley in their last match to pip us. They scored in the 2nd minute and got their 2nd with half hour left but they couldnt put a third past Roger Hansbury!I remember wasn,t it the season we went down.
Didnt Corky bag one and a big tall lad Stuart Evans got another a think he was from Sheffield

Sadly I think it does. It seems that the problem is (at least in part) people willingly paying money purely to see who gets three points rather then to watch the spectacle of a sport for 90 minutes. Not sure, depends whether you view it as a sport or not. I see it as more of a monopoly nowadays.
Let's call it a sport for arguments sake. If I'm an MK supporter I'm happy to have paid my money and see my team win. Does that answer the question?

If the scoreline is the only thing of consequence why not save your money and just check the results at full time? That question can either be to you or your hypothetical MK fan who thinks he spent his money wisely this week.
Best game I've been to in the last decade was Wembley this year. At full time I was thrilled to have seen such an exciting, high-scoring game where both teams contributed to a thoroughly entertaining spectacle (yes, spectacle and yes, entertainment) and the better team won. The lasting value to me was what happened over the 90 minutes, not just a scoreline. I knew I'd seen a brilliant game of football but I was delighted to hear people say it was the best game yet at new Wembley and the best FA Cup semi final in years. It's rarely a spectacle any more. Sorry to break that to you but football stopped being a spectacle when money ruined it. It's more of a 'how many wins can you buy' game now. Further to that I would take no joy in witnessing a spectacle without ever achieving anything.....which is actually pretty much as good as it gets at BL.
The result has become the only thing of consequence because I have no realistic hope of seeing a 'spectacle' as you call it at BL in the foreseeable future. In fact I haven't seen one down there for some time. That's exactly why I do save my money and go to whatever games I can, when I fancy it. Football is a rip off now, that's why I spend as little as possible on it whilst trying to keep in touch with the club I can't help loving.

We lost that game. I wouldn't trade it for MK's performance and result on Tuesday.
That's the truth. Not the first team to defend in depth and hope for a lucky break with a set piece. The game finished 1-0 to MK end of chat, there game plan worked and we weren't good enough. Nothing more to say really.
I think you've lost sight of where this started. What you're talking about now is how we won at Fulham in the cup. We defended resolutely, tried to hit them on the break, and even though it was a dull game to watch we were rewarded with a last minute goal. I don't expect every game will be as thrilling or entertaining as the Hull game or the Forest play off game, but you can always play the game in the right spirit. You've reminded me how satisfying it is to be entertaining losers. Our club have certainly been good at that over the years. I remember how dull Charlton were when they went up as champions from this division.....bet they look downwards and think, I wish we were entertaining like Sheffield United!
You won't convince me that what MK did was ok as that would require me to concede that football is dead. If I thought that, I wouldn't keep going just to find out who gets three points.
Bob Harris went down twice in the first half, needing treatment, although it was difficult to see if there was actually any contact in the challenges, and he did make a speedy recovery. Did anyone get a good view of it? When MK Dons were awarded the free kick, from which they scored, McEveley looked to get his foot on the ball, though the MK Dons looked to fall to ground very dramatically.
Can we expect good performances from referees if players are continuously trying to fool him?
