Nice to see this get out of the cup idea so we dont have to rearrange league fixtures going so well. Because we've so far we've only had to rearrange 3rd round 4th round quarter final & efl trophy final dates
Yeah but at least we lost in the cup? It's what everyone on her wanted isn't it?

After Saturday our next home match is the 18 March, due to matches being moved Charlton at home is our last Saturday home match of the season.

goal difference note

january we conceded 10 goals in 5 games
this month
weve conceded 1 so far in 4
with just saturday to come

done a lot better there

Sort of i understand no distractions but that could put extra pressure on players as no excuses now, i like a cup run & you want to go as far as we can ok we wouldve gone out in 4th rd to man city (as we wouldve beaten palace at home) & players wouldve enjoy it + prize money wouldve helped £350,000 instead of £45,000. Then fixture backlog wouldve been any worse than now because we had to rearrange games on 3rd round & 4th round dates anyway because of Fleetwood & Oxford

Just ask Lincoln in the conference theyve managed combined cup run & promotion push as Lincoln are 3pts clear with 2 games in hand. as the manager on motd was saying it revitalised the club because beating Ipswich Brighton & now burnley confidence has gone through the roof

This is crap as it's (now) two Saturday home games (Milwall and Coventry) lost.

This means after Bolton I think there are only two Saturday home games left of the season?

Me too, accept I'm not on a plane like you, but trains booked, mother in law expecting (not a kid just me), everything sorted and now will have to pretend to our lass there is a game on... Then sneak down Kelham Island for the valley of ale tour.

Just got to explain when she drops me off why there are no traffic jams, crowds and Millwall fans.. Any ideas welcome.

A right feckin fiasco...
If I wasn't flying in early 6.30 , I'd probably come over for a sesh , but having to be out at the airport 2 hours before hand , means I'm knocking it on the head .
Wouldn't mind but I was coming over early to meet up with a few old mates , because I left it so late last time to catch up , so much for forward planning uhhh .

Don't see it that way at all.

If Millwall had lost yesterday that would mean we would play Oxford away on Tuesday 7th March, followed by Millwall as originally planned on 11th March, then we would have another match on Tuesday 14th March at Swindon.

In other words, if we were to play the Millwall fixture on the original date we would have two games in a week. Not playing them gives us a standard week's gap between the Oxford and Swindon matches.

All we will do is move the Millwall game to a free midweek slot, meaning we have just moved this particular two games in a week scenario to another (probably later) part of the season.

All good points... but...

It also mean we now have 3 away games on the bounce. And we are likely to have games in hand towards the end of the season. This may be a good thing or a bad thing. But it certainly gives other teams a chance to get the points on the board (just as we have over Bolton at the moment)

Is it not possible to play Coventry at home on the Saturday 11th, the date we should have played Millwall ? That is unless Coventry have a match already planned for that date.

They're playing Bradford.

Three away games on the trot is not necessarily a bad thing, just as our recent three home games on the trot didn't turn out to be particularly good for us.

Is there a date for the Millwall/Coventry games yet? If not, there is a possibility one of them could be inserted in that run of three away games.

Tactically we probably want to get the Cov game re-arranged for either 28/03 or 04/04 on the basis that they will be preparing for, or coming off the back of the JPT Final - the fact this hasn`t already been done lead me to suspect that Coventry don`t want to do this!

If Millwalls FA Cup QF needs a replay, then the earliest free midweek they have after 11/03 is 28/03, although they may move Millwalls game on 21/03 to play any replay.

Long story short, we need to get the game in the diary ASAP - were it me I'd be looking to book Millwall on 04/04 and Coventry on 28/03.

I'd agree with that, especially Cov the midweek before their "big" final. Fair to say they wouldn't be totally focused on our game were that the case.

What we really don't want or need is a midweek game right at the end of the season, not sure any of us could cope with that!
