Cotterill is playing in a higher league than us, having actually helped a team get promoted from League One in recent years, and was part of the team that got us within 90 minutes of the Premier League.

I have never and will never understand the vitriol that man gets, so many years after he left too.

Miller needs a full pre-season. The in form miller would be an ideal striker to play in front of Baxter.

Although in the summer could we afford better/guaranteed goals?

All our strikers are below the standard we need. That just reinforces the point. It's hard to judge most positions on the field using stats, because they don't tell the full story. For strikers, give or take a little, they do. At 27, it's highly likely there's nothing hidden from the less than 1 goal in 4 lower division appearances.

He is the type of player who leaves you feeling that there's something more to come - but 4 in 27 for us says it all, I fear.

All of the strikers are struggling to get starts because of the system we are currently adopting. Rather similar to the famous "false 9" and it's working a treat. Gives us a very solid shape with players that have the ability to break quickly and link up with one another.

I'm sure at some point we will have to adapt and change things around which will bring our forwards into it. While it's working I couldn't care less who is playing and who isn't.

Mmm Shouldn't have said owt about Miller, average tonight, though didn't seem happy on wing. Great performance though if you compare it to Paynter, this lad just does not seem match fit.

Excellent performance overall last night but I thought Miller & Paynter were poor again. I was hoping they would grasp the opportunity but neither did. We definitely need to bring in a decent striker or two in the summer - including someone with pace who has the ability to create space and get some shots in on goal.

I thought Miller was respectable enough for the first half, but after an hour he was completely spent. He needs a pre-season and a formation which allows him to play up front next to a target man. If he doesn't get those two things I doubt he has a future at United.
