Mmm.
Not entirely sure this is the right decision if there is no immediate cover.
Dont think the lad has had much chance since his header at fulham.

No Clough has clearly lost the plot. Whens Harrys game coming on to tell us its all the cups fault and we should be worrying about relegation.

The lad goes and gets experience we perhaps couldn't give him and with the season end approaching it might just be the rocket up the arse he needs for next season.

Other option could be Clough knows several better targets who will improve and doesn't see a place for Miller. Neither are bad options as I see it.

Fair enough comment.
But i would have preffered this pending a definate replacement.
We are not blessed with proper strikers at the minute are we?
Was cotton wool on the bench today???

I believe there was a cardboard duck on the bench, Houso was animated.

Fact is, we have to trust the bloke in charge. So far he has done a great job turning shit into a team that can compete. Up top if Miller and Porter are our options start of next season I for one will be spitting bile aplenty in the direction of the supposed investment.

Does anyone know if Miller scored today?

I can't seem to get any info on the lad.

Clough has absolutely battered Miller from the sidelines a few times. The other week when he ended up at full back I thought he was incredibly harsh on him.

Noticed that at the end of that game, Doyle went straight to him and put his arm round him.

Frustrating. I would like to give him another year, but that might be more in hope than expectation. I lvoed pre-injury Miller but he hasn't got close to returning to his former self. At the same time, it would be painful to see him move to another club and then bag 20 goals whilst we still had Porter on the books next year. It's a tough one.

His scoring record at L1 level is 13 from 83, over 1 in 6. He might be OK as a squad player but I think Cloughie knows he isn't good enough.

A striker with a worse scoring rate than Porter is not the answer. Use the wage on someone who can score goals.

This is what strikers do when we sell them on. I thought Billy Sharp would be the answer when he was brought home, but it was not to be. Seriously, if he came back to play for Nigel, his tendency to go too early and be off side would be ironed out and under the present system he would score shit loads of goals. Not likely to happen though.

Looking ahead I say come home Ched.

We loaned Shrewsbury another striker not so long ago who scored on his debut for them and look what happened to him !.

Not too bothered about Miller going to Shrewsbury but I do think Clough has made a mistake by not bringing a decent striker in on loan. We've had a great run but I'm not sure the formation will work against better sides ....we've certainly had little goal threat in the last two games. It's ok saying it will be sorted in the summer - but we still have many of the better teams to play and could do with someone now.

Even though we're pretty close to fielding the preferred eleven and we've had slightly more rest the past two weeks I think it was too much to ask of our players to keep up the winning run.

A team can raise their game for monumental games for a few games a season and keep a winning run going for a while, but eventually we'll face opposition who are also in good form, who have studied us, prepared well and will match our confidence and motivation.

I'm concerned we may face a little reaction now, which most likely will see the play offs get out of reach. If we really wanted to keep the run going I think we should have made a couple of attacking additions, which would have enabled us to give the likes of Flynn a rest, and maybe a different (quicker, more direct) type of striker to what we've got. The players deserve a lot of credit for what they've achieved, but we will probably realise in the next few weeks that our squad was too thin to get in the play offs.

Looks like he's not in clough's plans and been sent off to Shrewsbury so he can put himself in the shop window for when his contract is up at the end of the season.

I wouldn't say he's not in Cloughies plans until the end of the season when he returns. I'd think he's got At least three players ahead of him and Clough only seems to use two so very very difficult to get him match fit under those circumstances so the loan makes perfect sense.

Jon Taylor also scored for them, seventh of the season. He's only young, we were linked with him in the summer and he could be good cover for Flynn and Murphy. Admittedly I don't know a huge amount about him aside from the fact he's very quick and has looked decent the couple of times I've seen him.

Without a loan signing before the deadline on Thursday I seriously sense history repeating itself or the third time in succession - spending another day at Wembley without a recognised striker anywhere to be seen either on the field or on the bench. Craig Beattie, Cresswell for two trips with no cover. How could it ever happen again?

NC said yesterday it was Miller's decision. OK but aren't we going to Wembley at least once? Miller was 5th in line apparently but Paynter is cup-tied so Porter is our only experienced "striker" and that is before we suffer more injuries or suspensions NC would rather play kids?! Which kids. Our wonderkid hasn't had a look in recently.

If Thursday comes and goes without a signing I will be gobsmacked.. We are building for the future but 30000 fans will regard that game at Wembley as a nightmare if it pans out as it very well could if Plan A doesn't work. No, there must be a signing in the offing. Miller did the business at Fulham and he'll be watching the game on telly- unnecessary.

So all we need is a prolific striker that's not cup tied.

Nowt to it.

Why the hell can't Clough see that?
