Not a chance. Weir said last week that he was back in light training, but they want to be careful with him (sensible. Remember what happened to Kabba?)

He will probably play an U21 game towards the end of next month, with a view to first team action by November. Can't wait to see him play for the first team again. A very astute signing, who could have made the difference last season had he not been injured.

Wasn't expecting him to be back till the end of the year. Real bonus for us if he's available in September, but we can't rush him back.

He was starting to look very good just before he got crocked but knowing our luck when he comes back he'll just be Miller Lite.

It will take time to get up to full speed. Can we wait that long or do we need another striker?

Maybe we'll see him used as a super sub for a few games initially.

Going to be very tough for him, I can't recall a player coming back from ACL injuries and being as good as he was before, important we place no expectation on him difficult as that is given the alternatives.

When I did mine second time around, I went to see a private consultant who'd done some work with some top level pro's - The procedure they perform now-a-days involves shaving some ligament from them stringy bits at the back of the knee and grafting it onto the broken crutiate which gives it as much strength as it had pre injury.

Its the psychological aspects that are the toughest to overcome in injuries like this - consciously or not you're less inclined to stick a leg out or throw yourself into the 50/50's - at least until you've learned to trust your knee a bit which in some cases could be never.

On the positive side, Alan Shearer did his when he was about Millers age and he went on to score a few goals! :)

Jags came back well at Everton. Ruud Van Horseface did his ACL before signing for Man U, and he was very handy.

Although what we'll never know is how good a player might have become without the injury...

PS - this is a good time to point out that I twisted my ankle at 13. The world was robbed.

I can't wait for Miller to come back, but there does have to be a reality check that he needs to regain full match fitness and as has been pointed out we have to hope he does not have further issues with his knee and overcome the psychological element. Reality is probably November before he will be an automatic choice.
