Who else at the time thought quadrupling Micky's Port Vale salary was a ludicrous decision? Surely we could have doubled his salary and he'd have been happy.

Chickens have well come home to roost, as it'll now cost us 500k to pay him this chump off.

Surely there will be a relegation clause in his contract with a big reduction for league one standing.The club has been stripped and will be unable to buy out many contracts.

Interesting to read in todays papers that Blackpool have clauses in their players and managers contract with a 50% reduction in wages.

They also have a fine wedge in bonus for staying up!

We went to a night with Harry Bassett this week where he was saying his squads years back had a reduction if they went down.

.... and if what we are led to believe is true, Nosworthy, Henderson, Evans and probably some others, are being paid at least twice as much as what Adams is earning.

Players asset stripping is the scourge of the modern game. As a rule I think managers tend to be worth their salary in comparison. Why should a third or more of the playing staff be earning twice what their Gaffer does? But it's the board that sanctions the contracts and need to be accountable.
