well thay have Anton Ferdinand and Titus Bramble at the moment so he would be in good company. Steve Bruce is a good manager but as a quality centre half himself he doesn't seem to have much idea. When he was in charge at the Lane we were always much better attacking than defending.

Etrl played centre half early on in the season and looked pretty good. I think he'd make a better CB than CM anyway.

Well, having slept on this overnight, I came to the conclusion that what we need now is a leader on the pitch. Monty as captain shows what few options we have since we lost Morgan for the season. I have been saying for a couple of seasons now that we needed a replacement for Morgs. If MA has any sense he will address that first thing tomorrow morning....there is a lack of discipline and organisation on the pitch that a captain has to take by the scruff of the neck...just cant ever see Monty doing that ( without wishing to reopen old arguments I would argue he should not be in the starting 11)
