..... being very chatty recently, with a lot of interviews with radio Sheffield and comments on the blades site.
- He is wanting Morgan for manager!
- Having horrible feelings in his stomach about this season
- Stating next season will be the hardest leauge one in a long time

Sounds like he is trying to cover all areas recently, and already got in a excuse if we fail again next season :p

His performances have been sickening to watch this season and I'm glad he as been uncomfortable recently, if he ends up still being our captain next season I expect a lot more from him.

Can someone break into his house and grease his stairs or summat?

Might get rid of him for a good six months.

Yes, a period of silence from Mrs. Doyle would be much appreciated. His excursions into the media are about as effective as his performances on the pitch. His backing of Morgan is one more reason not to appoint the latter. Perhaps he thinks a manager who knows what he is doing will realise his considerable limitations.

Oh, hang on, he's cleaning the window...........oops, there he goes again! Doyle out.

A ripe banana's skin with the outer surface facing up is a significant slip hazard. The bit about it being a myth is a myth.

The banana skin slip is a myth. It is rather difficult to slip on one.

Any who I don't mind Doyle only because the Amazing Monty was worse than him.

Bollocks. At least Monty would run through a brick wall for the cause.

Doyle would fart about for ten minutes looking for a step ladder to get over the wall and then give it up as a bad job.

Run like a headless chicken through a brick wall and then give the ball back to the opposition.

You sound like you have done your research on this. :)

Well the effort required to run around like a headless chicken is still more than Doyle contributes.

Maybe so but I personally would still rather have Doyle having put up with a decade on Monty. Doyle did well last season to give him his credit not sure what has gone wrong this season really perhaps lack of decent players out wide I reckon.

Monty struggled in our midfield in the Championship as part of a usually uninspiring and unambitious central two. Doyle struggles in League One.

Neither of them is the answer but if I was forced to pick one it would be Montgomery. At least he got on the ball to give it away; Doyle's normally found picking himself off the floor after going to ground in a ridiculous attempt to foul an opposition midfielder who's bigger, stronger and crucially way better technically than he is.

I once greased my granddads my back with lard, he went downhill pretty quick after that....................

True that. I once saw someone slip and fall on a banana skin.

True, but that was in the third division. Monty can trump that with ease. He actually performed very well in the premier league during our all too brief stay there.

I know that Doyle has been one of the favourite scapegoats this season (along with Flynn) but are fans being entirely objective and fair?

Central midfielders who play a holding role have long been singled out by fans. John Gannon, Bobby Ford, Monty, etc.. I'm sure you could add a dozen or more names to the list. Even Bob Booker was given a hard time when he first came, until he scored a few goals from set-pieces.

I only managed to watch two games live this season and in both I was at a loss to understand why Doyle was singled out for special criticism, when most of the team were no better. Ok, I know nowt about football, but I heard Keith Edwards on the radio recently say "fans don't appreciate just how much work Doyle does".

Maybe we need another Vinnie Jones? He'd get us out of this division!

No he didn't. He did one or two good things in one or two games and his apologists remember them all. Doyle is Michael O'Monty. There is nothing to choose apart from Doyle's slightly better passing ability. That's not a compliment by the way. I've seen banana skins that pass better than The Maestro.

As for 'holding midfielders' and 'defensive midfielders' - bollocks to that. Give me two central midfielders who are comfortable on the ball, can pass and move and press the opposition when not in possession. We don't have the luxury of a Montgomery style non-footballing job description. In truth, we never have.

i never understood the stick john gannon got. he usually did a good job for us. bob booker was crap at first, but improved a lot, thats why he got stick. bobby ford did ok and probably suffered due to being just "ok". im not even getting into the monty situation.

to be fair, there arent many players in the current team that havent got stick. cos most of em are shit. doyle is an easy target, like porter. doesnt mean they arent utter pish though ;)

Gossip was low on this board thought we could all have a nice chat about our wonderful Captain .... no? :tumbleweed:

You gave it all of what? 8 minutes, during normal office/work hours with other topics being discussed :)

I'd hardly get the tumbleweed out!

Comparing the two side by side, the one who offered far more to the team is currently sunning himself in Australia.

A lack of decent players out wide doesn't render you prone to standing and watching, marking yourself or force you to repeatedly try kicking the ball back over your head blindly but finding your own face/hand.

Had Doyle talked more on the pitch, rather than just to the press in the last couple of weeks then we might have had a little more cohesion.

Still would sooner keep Monty is Australia.

I think you are wrong. He played well in the premier league, far better than I expected him to.

he obviously wants morgan cos he knows that useless gimp will play him.
a new manager may well feck him off to colchester!

Morgs appeared to be out of his comfort zone during his short spell in charge. Useless he is not. Why don't you seek him out and tell him to his face? It's 20 years since I tasted hospital food in Sheffield. It wasn't palatable then but if you were to do as I suggest, sucking it through a straw could be far worse.:D

Morgan is a great character and an inspirational figure. That doesn't give him any right, however, to a job for life. I wouldn't use (in CM's case) the same terms as Ken, but my opinion is that Morgan may turn into a decent defensive coach but there ends his potential. I dearly hope he is not appointed manager as SUFC. In addition, the new manager should be absolutely at liberty to bring his own staff in. If that means CM's departure, so be it. That's football; That's life.

why would i seek him out? i didnt realise it was a secret that hes been useless as a manager? obviously i meant useless in the manager context, i dont care how great he is at defending corners, cluedo, installing laminate flooring or shagging his mrs. he might be a genius at everything else, not relevant here though.

hes shown nothing to suggest he could do the job. all hes shown is he knows how to suck up to people. id tell him to his face no problem, if he asked me of my opinion. which im sure he wouldnt. hes no doubt been called a lot worse in his time.
