I wouldn't be massively disappointed with him. Not my first choice but it's a big step up in experience and stature. His Boro team played some really good football, I think he just lost his way a bit at the end.
 
Carrick has failed to do the exact thing we want to achieve, and from a very similar starting point. Just like Lampard at Derby. That’s not to say they’re awful, but their CVs fall short.

If football recruitment was based on evidence, Cooper would have been in already. Supplement a mid table squad with quality loans. Make them gel. Get promoted.

Cooper did exactly what we want to do when appointed at Forest, they were bottom of the league and he took them up... and at our expense...and the rest is history as look at them now.

If we are making a change surely it has to be for some proven championship manager otherwise we may as well stick
