the problem is that based on last 30 years. outsider struggle at sheffield united so as much as i hate relying on anyone with heavy link with the club. it make sense. Jokanvoic, Robson, Adkins, Selles, Speed, all successful before but disasters at sheffield united.

the only outsider that could stand a chance would be dyche, if we did i highly doubt he takes it. because Nuno, O'Neil, Carrick, Mousinho, Gerrard etc would be a disaster based on the last 30 years

It has to be Wilder,I'm afraid, desperate situations require desperate measures. The team/ club is in free fall and only heading one way.Wilder knows the club and most of the players,he'd probably want certain conditions.

If the board want to persist with the idea of a younger tactically innovative manager then my suggestion would be Henrik Rydstrom at Malmo he’s getting quite a bit of buzz for the exciting and innovative way he’s got Malmo playing. Whoever they bring in though I hope they bring in a proper administrative set up alongside him to set the club up properly moving forward.

Anyway theres a write up on Rydstrom here:

I’ve repeatedly given my opinion about Wilder coming back so I’m not saying anything further, things are divisive enough as it is.

I’d say the club is already going backwards. Nothing from COH and Bettis is channeling his inner Harpo Marx.

It’s a fucking shitshow
Got to agree re going backwards with this shower in charge.
Wilder saga under PA
Wilder scuttles out back door
Wilder stabs PH int back
Wilder returns
Wilder on contract end of season
Wilder given new contract
Wilder sacked
Wilder returns WTF

Makes club a feckin laughing stock

If the players have sulked over his sacking then bringing him back would send a clear message to the dressing room that downing tools works. That would cause all sorts of long term issues

Don’t think it was so much I wanted Wilder out it’s more I wanted the club to modernise with a young progressive manager in.

We’ve ended up with inept, absent and nieve owners that picked the wrong man.

No quick fix now, decent talent won’t come near us so forget Dyche, Nino et al it’s Chanillor type punts or desperate like Carrick or Gerrard but probably O’Neil.

I wouldn’t rule out COH asking Wilder on a short term deal
Sadly I think you could be right

Tony mowbray win stats just over 41% and bring his brother in as DOF (. Currently head of recruitment at Southampton)
Old seasoned coach who would settle everything down.

And he started most of the good work at Sunderland

Dyche - not sure he’d want the job. And obviously he’s not going to play beautiful attacking football. But he is a good manager and would at least get the players performing to the sum of thier parts. Let’s be honest the season is a survival job now given the state Selles has put us in.
Said this in another thread, but Dyche's reputation comes from the miracle he performed keeping Burnley in the Premier League playing how they had to to survive. In his two full seasons in the Championship, Burnley scored the most and third most goals in the entire league, so I think these comments about how his teams supposedly play are a little unfair, especially considering we would be hiring him for the Championship where his teams have dominated and scored boat loads

The tail can’t be allowed to wag the dog. They’re paid well to do a job.

It’s about time they fucking well started doing it

And he has a good record of bringing young players through, if I'm not mistaken.

Do we know how much the owners actually know about what’s going on in the club? Who is the actual representative at Bramall Lane who is feeding information back to them? In fact, is there anyone at all with football knowledge feeding information back to them?
Just as important as getting a new manager is bringing in a director of football who has a clear vision of how we can proceed and improve. This has never been Bettis’s role and it’s something that appears to be greatly lacking.
The owners have never claimed to know much about the actual game, but they are astute businessmen and their own fields, unfortunately not the field of football. We really need an experienced DOF who can define where we are going and how to get there.

Wouldn’t have thought this would be the case, (as instinctively I wouldn’t have wanted him, and it sounds like most others don’t either), but Stevie G has a better win percentage at 55.3% than any of the other managers linked in this thread.
Most managers who have spent any time at Rangers or Celtic have a high win percentage. It is a completely flawed measure that takes no account of context.

They had Des Taylor advising them during and maybe after the takeover, not sure if he is still around?
A DoF seems critical, given their lack of background, and to act as a mors independent ling term planner.

Think Michael Skubala is going under the radar a bit at Lincoln, doing a decent job there and currently beating a decent Chelsea line up in the cup,set his team up well here.
Comes across well when interviewing, and could well be a Championship manager next season one way or another
