Tried to get one going today, bottom left of the south stand. Not a single person joined in, then a steward told me to sit down. :(
I appreciate it wasnt a world cup game but fuck me. Any wonder the atmosphere is shit!
Support? Our fans are a disgrace.

You should have been thrown face first into a fire

should've gone left rather than right
Tried both, initially facing the crowd. A bloke threw a bovril at me. Turned to face the pitch and asked the steward for support. He told me to sit down. Said I'd leave if he didn't start waving his arms. He called me an mental cunt and said i looked stupid.
Our stewards are a disgrace too. :(

This raises a deep and philosophical question, and one which simply must be addressed.

A Mexican wave is when a crowd stands up line by line to create a ripple effect.

A Sheffield wave, however, is...

what?

Stick to the Womens World Cup in future

The most amazing Mexican Wave at the Lane was promotion in 2006 in the last home game of the season v Palace - all 30,000 involved including a tidy away following.
