Of course, the regular predictions of defeat for us aren’t outrageous but when plant-pots like Sutton and Merton throw in a thumping score line, the laziness should be highlighted.
There is precious little basis on which any ‘pundit’ could conclude that United will get thrashed…in any fixture, frankly. It happens relatively rarely - and it is even more rare for it to happen to us at Bramall Lane.
We’ve played 41 Premier League home games under Wilder and Hecky, and only once in that time have we lost by more than 2 goals - the 0-3 to Arsenal in the relegation season.
In general - even in the dire relegation season - United are invariably ‘in games’ and more often than not, we go down by a single goal. We don’t have a history of being a pathetic cannon-fodder side like others - such as Leeds last season who would ship 5 at home one week and then 6 the following week, Southampton where you could just think of any number, or even spineless turds like ManU who shipped 6 to Man City and 7 to Liverpool.
Our lads have generally had a bit more about them…not that the thick talking heads in the media have noticed.
