It's actually the winter solstice. The Christians nicked the idea and co-opted it in their attempt to airbrush anything non-Christian from history.

"Sir, I will not sir!", barked Scrooge, sharply, "I shall be spending as little as possible, and that will be on whores and crystal meth, you keep Christmas in your way sir, and leave me to keep Christmas in mine"

"But Sir!", started Fezziwig,

"Enough Sir!", shouted Scrooge, "Enough I say, Humbug!"

happy christmas (even tho its a week early)
 
looking forward to this one. First one with all the kids living away and coming home. Two home games all five of us going Boxing day, me ad Mrs I.am new year eve and still haggling over first possible away game for many years.
I'm not a bloke given to laughing out loud but when I do it's often something I've read on the forum. Keep up the good work and have a great Christmas.
onwards and upwards, let's hope were celebrating next year in the Championship
