I was there, think we scored 1st and they missed a penalty. The sending off was the best bit of retaliation I ever saw.
I was also at the 1968 1 -0 cup 1/4 final defeat, last time I ever went. Going friday.
Woody's first goal for us

GOAL - v Leeds (a) 31.10.64. Woodward jabbed home his first goal for the club after Hartle had beaten three men to feed Jones and the centre forward pulled the ball back for Woodward to do the rest.

My best memory is Brian Gayle giving us the league title in 92 . Slim pickings over the years and I was right next to your lot for the 4-0 at Elland Road. Could have been 8 . Always enjoy coming to yours if we get a decent allocation. I’m going for us to find our early season form and turn up for this one. Up to Saturday we had been found out in games and the 4-2-3-1 wasn’t working like it did v Forest , Sunderland, etc . Long long season and can’t see Cardiff or your good selves lasting the pace but fair play the league doesn’t lie . I expect Villa and Norwich to be there at the end with Wolves and your neighbours still might get in the 6.

Wow never realised it was Woody's 1st goal for us, when was his last?

I vividly remember beating them 1-0 at Elland Road in the 70’s with a 25 yard cracker by Woody.
Mi’ owd Dad jumped up and shouted GOAL long before the ball had even left Woody’s foot.
He never missed from anywhere within that range..guaranteed excocet.
That was a night match the season we were relegated.

We were already down before that game but it didn't half wipe some smug smiles off faces walking up Beeston Hill afterwards.

To say that I enjoyed it would be a huge understatement.

Anyone remember Blades 3- 0 win in August 1971 when Leeds were reigning champions and we were newly promoted? 40,000 watched from 3 sides in a deafening atmosphere.
My first time at BDTBL.

Had previously supported us an a more abstract sort of way but that cemented the relationship.

"He's on of our own"

Add it to the charge sheet of riots at Bournemouth, Birmingham, setting alight the disabled stand at Barnsley etc etc etc.

'DirtyLeeds' covers the club and fans. They deserve each other,
You forgot Paris 75

Cammack's point saver after L**ds players were stunned by the firework display (in front of the soon to be completed South Stand) that had set off prematurely before the final whistle. Easter Tuesday 1975. Cammack is on the far left of the photo

That was a memorable trip home for me.

Without going into all the details SYP did not cover themselves in glory at Sheffield station resulting in severe travel difficulties.

It's a good job that my girlfriends father was a top man seeing as she was with me unbeknown to her parents,

I've been to every single game against them since my first in 1971 and I've sat in every stand in their ground to achieve that.

The best was definitely the first but many others stand out as memorable.

The Cammack equaliser for it's timing and all sorts of other reasons as above.

The 1-0 Woody win at their place in 1975

Obviously the 2 - 1 league cup win and 1 - 0 F.A Cup win in the same season. I always claim that it was us, and those two games that destroyed them, and sent them into rapid decline although I suppose Ridsdale must take some of the credit.

Finally the 4 - 0 to us at their place.

I entered the Yorkshire Evening Post fantasy football league with a team name of Blades4 Leeds 0 and won a manager of the month award of £500.

Was great to see my team name at the top of the leaderboard in their local rag.

First ever away game for me was a 1-0 win at Leeds in 1976, Woody scored, only nipper so can't remember much about it. Went to about all of them after up to 1994 season. The LC drubbing, after beating European Champions Liverpool in the previous round, remember a mid season friendly, possibly a Friday night about 1980 or 1981. Went a few times to Elland Road with Leeds mates in the 80s, and my dad took me a couple of times in the 70s when he got freebies through work, think one was v Derby, the other Liverpool.

From the Woody winner in 1976 all the way to losing 5-0 in '88 don't think we lost a league game against them. Then when that top-hat Wilko took over don't think we ever beat them (maybe beat them in 93 after the FA Cup semi final). Recent times we've not done too bad against them, the two cup games in 02/03, double over them in 04/05, battering them 4-0 at their spot, beating them to second spot promotion in 2006, took Hulse and Kilgallon off them the season after, even in the relegation season didn't we beat them at the Lane?

Be interesting to see how we go this time around ... fingers crossed for Friday :)

The obvious one Blades 2-1 in the league cup & Webber's debut goal (?) in the 4-0 mauling.

Tomorrow will be my 13th visit to Elland Road (10th involving the Blades, first time was the FA Cup replay against Rotherham in 1971, the other two was to see TC play against Wolves and Leicester in 1978)

My last visit was in 1993 (lost 2-1, Elleray was the ref and had to change his top as the L**ds players were complaining that his top was similar to our away kit) when some of our fans booed Deane (I didn't join in the booing)

The only time I saw us win there was in 1976 (Woody goal)

Just realized that tomorrow will be the only 3rd time I will be in the "away section"!

Just realised I dont think Ive ever seen us beat them.

Went in McEwan/ Bassett season when we threw away a 2-0 lead late on to draw 2-2 and then Wally Downes day when we lost 5-0 away;

Also a 2-2 draw and a 4-0 loss in the Bassett promotion season;

then I was there for 2-0 home defeat early on in 1990/91,

went to the 2-3 defeat when they won the title at Bramall Lane,

went to the 2-1 defeat at Elland Road in our 93/94 relegation season, the 1-1 draw the night we celebrated promotion under Warnock. Missed the double Cup triumph when they were in the Prem and we weren't.

Realise we've beaten them a few times since but can't recall having been at any of them. I havemt generally been a jinx for t' Blades, but looks like Leeds might have one over me. God that's depressing, well a lot of pressure on tomorrow now then.

My last visit to Elland Road was that one in '93 (24 years ago!!!), been loads of times, seen United v Leeds there 10 times, Utd v Bradford there in 1985 and about half a dozen times when United weren't playing. Saw us win there in '76 (Woody), '86 (Philliskirk) and against Bradford 4-1. And seen us draw there in '84 and with 9 men in '85, then zip since. Very nearly went to the Danny Webber 4-0 drubbing and kick myself a bit that I missed that one! Think I've been on every stand/side at Elland Road, Lowfields terrace, Lowfields (old) stand, south stand upper and lower (when it was standing), West stand and their Kop, only one I've not done is the new Lowfields ... I always think that looks ridiculous as it dwarfs the rest of the ground.

I guess my sporting trips to Leeds these days have now been overtaken by visits to Headingley for cricket (must have been about 30 times now and all since my last trip to the football ground) rather than Elland Road and football.

don't worry .. Wilder is the jinx buster..
weird thing about that 70's Leeds team is that they were a fantastic team. they didn't 'need' to cheat.

I was there on Bank Holiday Monday, April 16 1990. Sadly for me and about 30 other Blades, as we could not get away tickets, we were in their end, sat in one of the stands at the kop end. Lets just say it got a bit tasty. With hindsight as we got promoted a couple of weeks later it was a good game to loose from health perspective!!! Hated the bastards before, during and ever since.

I could have killed Gayle that day! My favourite season v Leeds was 1989/90, even though we lost 4 - 0 on Easter Monday we got promoted, behind Leeds of course but we weren't expected to be anywhere near the promotion spots, having just come up from the 3rd division. Much like now really. With all due respect, Leeds had spent over £3m assembling the side that only beat us by one point to promotion and we'd spend about £500,000! Wilkinson was a good manager but what Harry did with us, I don't think Wilkinson could have done.

Favourite game v Leeds was the 2 - 1 win against Leeds in 1992 - below. Not one many will remember like some of the other wins, but I'd never seen us beat Leeds until then!
