So a fading beauty parachutes a 'big name' in as manager. Where've we heard that before...

I’ve already done two of these ‘Memries of Derby’ – Part One, and Part Two.

Our last meeting was a disappointing 1-2 defeat at Pride Park earlier this season (20th October, 2018) – Craig Bryson scoring for The Rams after 19 seconds without United touching the ball from the kick-off. Basham equalised later in the first half but Jack Marriott made it 2-1 to Derby in the 77th minute.

We’ve met Derby in the League a total of 103 times so far:

Home: P: 51 W: 30 D: 9 L: 12 F: 90 A: 59

Away: P: 52 W: 13 D: 7 L: 32 F: 61 A: 104

Full history v Derby County.

It doesn’t get much closer than this. Can we reverse our recent poor form against serious promotion candidates?

Derby have just won 11 points out of the last 18 so this Wednesday will tell us a lot about our promotion credentials.

Derby Top Scorers:

Without Matej Vydra’s 21 league goals last season, Derby haven’t found a prolific scorer to replace him this season.

The Manager:

Media darling Frank Lampard was appointed Derby manager on 31st May 2018. Best known for his spell at Chelsea, 102 England caps and shocking taste in women, Lampard’s total inexperience as a manager saw him replace much-underrated Gary Rowett who had just guided Derby to 75 points and a place in the play-offs at the end of the 2017-18 season.

I remember drinking lots, missing the first goal, being at the bar when Bash scored, having a long walk back to Derby station, a subdued train journey back to Chez, and then my missus driving me back home, whilst my daughter asked me about the match, she was 2.
