My first memories of Luton Town playing the Blades was in about 1955/6. Ron Baynam the England goalkeeper played. The centre forward was a bloke called Turner if my old memory. I think he played for England as well. I think im right in thinking Luton won 3 0???
 



Not even a twinkle in my parents eyes then. I wonder where I was before I was born? Sometimes not sure where I am now to be honest.
 
Deano banging in a daisy cutter in 90-91 to win 1-0 not long after our first win in 17 matches v Forest - we started to believe

Glyn Hodges scoring the most un-Bassett-like goal ever in the return fixture, length of the field move from 'keeper to left wing, back heeled pass, cross and brilliant flying header. It was shortlisted for goal of the week by ITV.

The mental 3-6 win down there where we seemed determined to throw away the match from winning positions.

Luton had a really handy side in the mid-late 80s. Punched well above their weight for a few seasons.
 
Took a mate who supports Hull City to the 6-3 match. He was a big fan of Big Bad Billy and King Keith, so was happy to go. After that he decided that he would go to a few games when the Blades are in the South East.
Gage scored two that day I reckon including one corker.
I remember going to Luton and Paul Rogers made his debut too.

That was Boxing Day 1990, on their plastic pitch. No away fans allowed in Kenilworth Road, but I remember hearing the greasy chip butty song drifting from all four stands during the second half.

My favourite moment being their comeback from 2-0 down to beat Derby 3-2 on the last day in 1989/90 to send Wednesday down. "Blades Glory, Owls Shit", as the Green 'Un might have written it.
 
That boxing day game in 1990, all the coaches when we played spurs a couple of months earlier stopped in Luton with many Blades going up to their ground to join the membership there so they could get tickets. I was gutted as I was in pot on my leg and had to stay in the pub
 
Was at the 6-3 away win, 94/95 season. Carl Veart and Glyn Hodges, seem to remember a Hodges back heel for a Veart finish? Back then we just turned up and paid on the gate, was in my 1st year at uni down south and took a carlisle fan with me, how times have changed, away tickets like rockinghorse shite nowadays.

Thought Paul Rogers made his debut on the feast of St Bobby Davison?
 
The only league ground I have actually played on. Luton office v. Reading office, back in the days when you could hire their plastic pitch.
My abiding memory is picking bits of what looked like road grit out of my knee after the game. Took weeks to heal properly. It was a ramshackle ground even back then.

We lost 5-0 away pissed down all match on open end about 1978 total bollocks after the match
 
My memories being on the open end as king Keith scored is 1st goal of the season in a League cup game past Les Sealy , 2nd time when Deane scored when no away fans were allowed brother in law got a Luton fan to sign us in
 
One for Silent Blade was we playing Luton when Simon Stainrod had scored 2 goals and thought he had got hattrick only for it to stick in the mud as he was was celebrating?

Yes 4-1 in April 1978. Stainrod 2 and headers from Speight and Woody. Luton's consolation was an own goal from Calvert from 30 yards!

Snap fella with work but mine was Oldham’s plastic pitch. Hit my best ever shot off that surface though, veritable swerver that smacked the bar.
 
More recent last promo season paddy kenny in goal. Tracksuit from Matalan song. Eric mortecombe suite. Blow up pig bouncing round away end in a chupacup kit. 15 pints in St Albans after . Oour lass looking explosive. Our lasses mate looking right up for it. Me collapsing. 2 weeks of look love it didn’t mean owt I know she’s a slag come on it’s spurs away next then Fulham.. youth life!
 
Pleat lived near Luton , we made a delivery to him there when he was pig manager .We worked for Irwin Mitchell ,regularly going to pigs houses ,Trevor Francis in Virginia Water ,Dalian Atkinson in Barton under Needwood were the stand out ones. Trevor Francis was an absolute gent ,lovely bloke ,Atkinson was weird and a bit of a nob ,thought he was a gangster ,but Pleat was something else. The most arrogant bastard you could imagine , really talked down to you ,kerb crawling bastard.
All 3 houses were amazing.

I seem to remember Brian Gayle put through his own net in both games against Luton that season, though I think we won both times.

I was only 7 or 8 but I recall quite clearly listening to the 3-6 on the radio cos I'd never heard a game like it.
