They were very knowledgeable about English football. Rooney had just burst onto the scene but they knew he'd be something special.
Solano was a national hero at the time.

He and Ukaki both look like they could be fine options on rotation / off the bench and get a few minutes this season.

We could do with another senior wide man imo.

Looked good today but then tired after about 35-40 mins, as did most. Looks a little bit more unpredictable than Ukaki which I think probably puts him ahead in the pecking order.

Ukaki is absolutely fine, but I’m not sure he’s exciting to watch yet. He’s nowhere near for example Gassama?

The interplay between O’Hare and Ukaki for Cannon’s goal was top class, very clever. Early days, but I think Ukaki will develop as the season progresses and he finds his feet in English football.

Sounds like if we have a decent transfer window and one selles is hoping for then they're off on loan, if the owners turn out to be like every other normal blades owner then its a we are going with what we got.

That ball from Jeff to put Cannon in on goal was sublime and he's done a few of those in pre-season.

I don't see that quote from Selles as an indication that they're going out on loan. I see it more that the gauntlet has been thrown down to them. They have until the end of the transfer window to convince him that they can be used in the Championship or he'll bring in replacements while they get up to speed.

This seems to be what he's doing with most positions hence the patient approach in the transfer window.

That sounds about right tbh.

Jeff has looked pretty good, but as he plays more centrally, I struggle to see him troubling O'Hare, Hamer, Blaster and Davies (when both are fit) for one of the box to box roles in the matchday squad.

Ukaki has also looked quite sharp, but as it stands we only have Brooks as a starting RW option, so there is more space in the squad for him. I do hope we bring in another wide player on that side though.

I can't see how the other lad could be considered being anywhere near the starting 11 yet.
