10 minute highlight reel. Looks a good player to be honest. Athletic. Big.

Looks like a great shot stopper and seemingly pretty good distribution (the distance and pace on some of those passes could be a great weapon on the counter with the likes of Robinson and Mousset up front). But for a tall guy he didn't look great aerially, he looked to get shorter as he jumped! Although I remember De Gea getting absolutely slated for his aerial ability when he first got to Man U so it can definitely be worked on. Looks quite promising to me!

KV Mechelen are still considered guilty of match fixing, the bit that was overturned was the punishment of relegation. Instead, they're banned from the Belgian cup this season (they won it last year) and were blocked from entering the Europa League following that cup victory. Their main shareholder and chief executive have both got 10 year suspensions as a result.

The match fixing was at the end of 2017/18; Mechelen needed to win to have any chance of staying up. They won (2-0) but got relegated anyway as other results went against them.

Ok its a little confusing. The Belgium FA overturned their original decision and cleared them of match fixing. However the UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary committee stillfound them guilty and banned them from Europa. I think this is what has allowed him to leave.

It was the relegation that was overturned on a technicality.

To add: the club were found guilty but the decision was overturned by the Belgian Arbitration Court for Sports. Sounds like Verrips used the initial judgement as his reason to void his contract as his employers broke the law. His old club argue that his contract still stands because the judgement was overturned.

FFS, I can see it now.
