Was great in our promotion but I am not sure he was ever in Wilders plans for this season. That is why he got short shrift when he rocked up for a pay rise.

Duffy is great when we have possession trying to break down teams that park the bus at Bramall Lane, so he was a revelation in league 1, also very good in the Championship BUT I suspect Wilder thinks no PL teams are going to come to Bramall Lane set up very defensive.

Opposition teams in the PL seem to be quick and have many athletes playing for them.

Duffy is poor when we’re out of possession, he’s not good at tackling, no pace and no physicality.
So against PL teams especially away from home, then suspect Duffy would be a weakness.
He would have been sub and brought on mainly in home games when we’re being positive going for it, in that situation then he could have still contributed.

At PL level In most situations the irony is that much more limited Lundstrum is likely to contribute more towards helping the team than Duffy.

There’s two ways of reading her tweet. It replied to Duffy’s tweet about leaving and all the great memories he’s had with us.
One way of reading it is moving to the blades was the best thing he ever did; the other is that leaving was.

Get yer self on The Chase, you’ll put the Beast to shame with knowledge like that.

Yeah the tweet could be viewed either way.

Anyway good luck to him.

He's played half an hour for Stoke and we've played one game in the Prem. Bit early to be drawing a definitive conclusion as to how well he'll do at Stoke or whether he could have done a job for us.
For me, the only thing that would have spoilt the memories of him playing for us was if he'd turned up at S6. As it is he's still playing in red and white stripes and hope he does well.

I hope (well actually I don't) that his wife enjoys spending that extra £5k a week. He could have finished his career at the top of the tree in the prem. Life is long, football is short. He will now always be remembered as a good lower league player who peaked at Championship level. Shame really, but we move on.

Is it true that he went to Stoke for more money, that doesn’t sound very likely to me? He was on PL wages with us but wanted more. Even with Stoke’s parachute payments, surely they wouldn’t be offering more than us in the league below.

Duffy was a big part of our journey to the Prem but it was quite obvious that he was going to be used less from now on and moving on is probably the best thing for him at this moment in time. He clearly enjoys playing football and will get more game time in the Championship than he would with us. It has been great watching him over the past few years and I wish him well for the future. Hope Stoke draw Liverpool at Anfield in one of the cups so that he gets to achieve his dream of playing there.

He was the best fit in that system by a far distance

Why he ended up choosing to go only he will ever really know, I think going on last season and who Chris has brought in probably Chris had doubts regarding could he last or maybe Chris thought he finally had the money to get better at that position

Reg his missus, I didn’t read it as best thing ever done by going to Stoke, just think she initially wrote that without thinking it through and no more
