I know, I'm as gripped by the prospect of this as you are... 🙄

Crap owner, untrustworthy, insincere, shortsighted, utterly useless to the point of harming the club in the transfer market. IMO. "We tried for one or two, but...", "We need to cut our cloth accordingly..." Glad and incredibly relieved to be rid of his leadership.

Poundland Simon Jordan tribute sequel.

We would never have spent over £20 million on a player under McCabe. Would we have gave Ndiaye what he asked for on his initial contract when he asked for more? Selling Calvert -Lewin, Walker for peanuts is something else that wouldn't happen now. We don't undersell.

Straight to the fiction section on Amazon

£20? Excellent bit of business, well done Mr McCabe.

“Rich man used to getting his own way spends several fortunes failing to persuade the courts to tell it how he sees it. Rich man runs out of road, and with ego undiminished turns to vanity publishing as his only remaining option.” *

I don't usually buy books but this one I'm making no exception.

It'll be like reading Wikipedia.

Sheff United were well run under McCabe; debts were reduced to almost zero at one point; the academy was developed; attendances were increased by fair ticket pricing. I know I'm in a minority here but I still think he's the best owner we've had for running the club. He made mistakes (who doesn't) and tried an unethical business practice to relieve the prince of his holding but that's how business works, apparently. But I shall not be buying the book.
I now await the mountains of grief and false arguments about how he is bad. (Nobody sells assets for less than they are worth if they don't need the money.)

Hi Si, how is your Dad these days?!

Someone let me know if a torrent emerges for it, or if it's on libgen. Otherwise I'm not arsed

I can just picture Kev turning up to the Lane on Saturday, setting up a little fold-up table on the bit of land he still owns, gifting fans a golden chance to get their hands on an early copy which they can have signed by the man himself. Photo opportunities a mere £10 extra. No bigger deal than that!

He's a bitter cunt

McCabe - he meant well but I’ll remember him as basically the chairman who got pretty much every major stick or twist decision wrong - time after time

Be that refusing to invest at the right time, selling assets for pennies at the wrong time. Piss poor managerial appointment after managerial appointment. Can never forgive robson ( who’s been an abject failure everywhere) when we should have gone straight back up

Any manager he got right was just due to the law of probability in that one had to go right eventually. He never had the nerve to hold on to players costing numerous promotions - just wasn’t cut out to be a successful owner despite his best efforts

We just have undersold
In his interview yesterday PA said even if we had got double what we did it wouldn't have matched Ndiaye's value but last year of contract, absent for Aftican Cup in January and the player wanted to go. It seems we got £20 mill which will be reinvested. That's a bit different from the McCabe scenarios.

A great title would be "Hey Seth,"

He was just another very poor owner in a long list of poor owners who have passed through The Lane".

One of the biggest indicators was the continual flipping of MDs and senior leadership.

His transfer dealings were terrible and ultimately led us to one of the worst periods in the clubs history.

Ultimately the court case bought him down and did him no favours as a public view of the character he really is.
