He gave away the mistake for the goal...then a penalty and then lost Jesus for a free header. Could have been 3 goals and all his fault . Few other overplays where he lost it too. Only thing he did was the run for the Mousset chance.

Jesus took the kick but it was not far enough away from Henderson and he made a great save. He clutched the rebound to the delight of most inside the ground. Replays showed the keeper was off his line but these days no one is sure what might be looked at and what is ignored and there was not even a check for this for any possible retake opportunity.

Good game from Hendo but the penalty should have been retaken, having said that I hate players who stop their run up to fool a keeper into moving so for me if the keeper does go early and saves it the taker can't complain too much.

A Man City player was a yard or two inside the box just before Jesus took the kick and I think that was the reason why VAR didnt call for the penalty to be re-taken.

We're in control as Walker has the ball on the right and we have a full defence and midfield behind the ball.

Sterling then runs inside and Basham decides to go with him. Basham can't get a challenge in and Sterling plays it wide right. The room vacated by Basham is not filled by anyone else...

I think it's another point worth noticing that Stevens is the one closing down Walker. Man City played wing backs, maybe as a tactical move to force our wing backs to stay back, stay wide, but also leave room behind them on occasions.

Stevens closing down Walker means he's got him under control, but as DeBruyne drifts into that right side Stevens is gone. With us having three centre halves, Baldock may not be used to step in to challenge central strikers too often - their left wing back is normally "his man" - but it is absolutely required in this situation.

Man City do show good movement and skill, but it's not a goal that was impossible to stop.

Looking at it there, there is an argument that Egan should be "on" Aguero, instead he's anticipating the cross and seeking to cut it out, which in fairness he is about 3 inches away from doing.

De Bruyne threaded the eye of a needle with the pass, not many teams have that sort of quality.

You really have to ask Egan why he isn't on the shoulder of Aguero the only reason Baldock needs to intervene is because Egan loses Aguero who taps into goal with no defender within 3 yards of him. Fairly fortunate for city that the cross made it across goal having gone through O'Connell's legs. 5 defenders v 3 attackers in the box ffs

Radio Sheff said before the game that City’s starting line up v Palace cost £450 million. However, that included Stones at £47 million. He was replaced by Laporte who cost £57 million, so make that a mere £460 million for the starting eleven on Tuesday.
