Whats this I'm hearing about allegedly getting his jaw broke in a nightclub?

I wouldn't begrudge a young lad the chance to go out and live his life, but if true then its a stupid thing to happen especially when we are really struggling at the moment!!

Was the Goal Machine involved....lol.....anyways I thought it was at McDonalds?

Or of course it could be a grand plan to pave the way for the return of someone else....

Do you think it was his fault?

I'm not sure I'd agree we're really struggling at the moment, I've seen worse form

I can find very little on the net about this but there is a line in the Star's match report - " although centre-forward Marc McNulty was ruled-out with a facial injury." which may suggest that it is true.

There's no doubt about it - NC confirmed it in his post-match interview, and while he said McNulty had assured him it wasn't his fault if it turns out it was then he'll be disciplined by the club.

They've known about it for a week. I'm not sure how they expect to find out whose fault it was if they havent already. Are they going to hire a private detective to sniff around in Edinburgh?

Best to just take McNulty's word for it and move on. Really bad timing all round though.

My dad knew George Hutchinson (played for us between 1948 and 1953) as he often spoke to him in the Sheffield nightscene. Once my dad saw a jealous boyfriend of a girl getting angry with George cos his girlfriend was more interested in George than in him so outside the nightclub this jealous man punched George on the eye causing him him to fall down the steps. My dad and his mates ran to aid George who immediately got a big shiner along with bruises caused by the falling. In the Green Un report of a Blade match the following Saturday said that Hutchinson was forced to miss the match "due to a heavy cold"

Happened in Edinburgh at the weekend. Same happened when he was at Livingston he got in trouble in Edinburgh. Blades are also looking at Declan Gallacher another Livingston player

Happened at Reading a few years ago when one of their CBs was reported as being out with "a leg injury". What wasn't reported was that he got it by falling down the stairs at a local nightclub!

Big deal ,nige had smashed the confidence out of the lad long before his jaw got the same treatment

I like the lad but he is another squad player in a squad full of squad players

I may have missed something, but were any other United players, such as Higdon, with McNuts when his jaw was reshaped in the night club?

Reckon Higdon would have got involved as well?

NC told McNulty not to go to Edinburgh. The gaffer is not pleased and there is a possibility that they may get rid.

...maybe McNulty threw a tantrum at being dropped and went out on the piss?
I think I'd be inclined to do the same after banging pretty much a goal a game and then being benched...one of the downside's to NIgel's management or is he right to run a tight ship?

...Could Nigel actually be Mark E Smith (google him kids) in disguise what with all the sackings??? Still, Nigel hasn't sacked anyone for ordering a salad...yet... :D

I have been informed that he has a fractured eye socket following an attack in a night club in Edinburgh. They operated on it Sunday. He will be out for some time. Perhaps the lack of details is there is a criminal investigation going on?

NC said on the radio that he was all right to go to Edinburgh,so that quashes that rumour.Just as a matter of interest i think McNuts has been badly managed imo and all this could have been avoided.

In my day Blades players went out as a team on the piss and no-one messed (or so I'm told) where's the spirit?
