Outstanding. Yes I know it was just a friendly.

He’s got lovely feet for someone pushing 6 foot, some lovely touches and great ideas.

Instant improvement to our first 11 never mind our squad if you ask me. The link up he provides is brilliant.

And WHAT a finish, dinking one of the worlds best.

I love how he drops deep to build play, challenges in the air has nice flicks. Excellent goal well taken. He will get fitter and better an excellent signing.
He’ll improve our build up play without doubt. I’m already nursing a semi thinking about some of the link up between him and Duffy this season.

2 of the best first touches in the league playing with each other. The stuff of legend just waiting to be written.

See the goal at Bradford!?

Very impressed. Hope his injuries are behind him.

McGoldrick has a chance to resurrect his career at Bramall Lane,he has chosen, probably by accident, the perfect club and manager to match his ability with our style of play.He is obviously a class act,i get the feeling that the commute to Ipswich and the 'industrial' style of football that McCarthy adopted didn't suit him and that this was the main reason he missed so many games through 'injury'.It could prove to be a very astute signing if we play to his strengths,i just love to watch good footballers !!!

If he stays fit then we have just got the best free transfer since Fleck, not to mention Duffy just before him.

Knows his onions this Wilder chap doesn't he?

Brilliant football.

If we keep McGoldrick fit and back to the level he was playing at 3 years ago we have one of the top 10 strikers in the division for nowt.
Why 3 years ago ? What happened last year ? I admit I've not followed his career so l know very little about him. Chris is going to play Leon every game as he builds platforms , this is Chris 's phrase not mine, chases down all balls even ones not worth chasing & draws 2 markers to him. So someone else is unmarked to score goals from midfield. So is David Mc going to start every game ? I've heard Holmes & Duffy can only play for 30 mins .....stamina reasons ...so he's not going to start with them & Lavaet is transfer listed. It's a conundrum. It's down to Leon definitely playing & either David McG or Billy to partner him. If we sign Nugent this adds one more striker to the squad. I don't think we will get Waghorn now..

Basically Chris wants a team of 11 who can play for 90 minutes plus. It isn't much to ask if we are to compete this coming season. A football match is for 90 minutes .... & with exception of recovering from a recent injury ...... footballers should have the stamina for 90 minutes. Bench impact players are always useful towards the end but this is all they are.

Not sure about the Duffy and Holmes only having the stamina for 30 mins thing. Duffy put that to bed last year, when people were saying he only had 70 mins in the tank and then went on to perform well for countless full games.

As for Holmes, he didn't really get up to speed last year, so how can we judge his fitness levels based on the odd late appearance? He had to force his way past Duffy, Evans, Leonard, Lunny, Fleck and Brooks to get game time. l heard nothing at all to do with his stamina, either on interviews or in threads here

Sorry, I love Duffy but last season he started 28 games and was substituted 21 times. He came on as sub. 8 times, so only played a full 90 minutes in seven games.

Fair enough, didn't realise it was only 7 full 90's - seemed more and I looked out for it, as I'd picked up on the fabled 70min thing. Regardless, that's still 7 full 90's when people were claiming he could only play for 70mins max. I wonder if, because of the high press nature of Wilders United, that any advanced midfielder, who's also asked to cover the flanks and drop deep will feel the burn, compared to other formations. Just a thought.

He's going to break your heart if you expect more than 30 total games/20 starts.

Save him for the games against more defensive teams, especially at home. Use him as an impact sub.
