According to Mr Wilson's recent press report that 'Missing McDonald is not to blame for our poor run of form'
then
What or Who is to Blame???:

Poor team selection
Poor Discipline by Players in Oldham match
Players not responding to management instructions
Poor training methods
Lack of quality in rest of midfield
Poor Finishing
Poor Defending
Poor substitutions
Lack of leadership on the field
Lack of leadership off the field
Players' ego's
Players' confidence

Perhaps it's a combination of all the above - One things for certain - It ain't going to right itself by bravado, over confidence by supporters who keep harping on about being second in the league, keep the faith, support them to the hilt, blah, blah, etc etc in their red and white striped glasses not seeing the obvious!

The management and players of Sheffield United FC have a lot resting on their shoulders - screw up from this position and we will be watching this shite standard for many years to come!
Wilsons track record is not the best! He hasn't become an ace manager overnight - be warned all you out their who are convinced that we will go up automatically - Wilson has screwed up before and he looks on track to do it again!

McDonald has been a very influential player for us, but I think his absence has only really caused/contributed to defeat in one game.

Well we've played 4 and a half games since he got injured. We won against Preston and Scunthorpe, and our defeats against Oldham and Walsall had very little to do with his absence. We should have beaten Oldham, but threw the match away because of indiscipline. And against Walsall we payed a further price for that indiscipline. I feel we have missed Collins more than McDonald. That's not to say I don't want him back ASAP though!

I mostly blame the negative shite on http://www.s24su.com

What he said ^^^^

Obviously we've missed him, although it's been more defensive issues rather than midfield in the games we've lost (aside from the derby where I think we'd've won or drawn with him), but clearly Wilson's going to downplay it, that's what managers do.

If he says "Yes, without him we're rubbish" the remaining midfielders clearly aren't going to be happy, and I think it's fair to say his management style isn't a confrontational one.

About par for your usual posting !!
Two Points:
A) I don't only post when we lose!
B) Dipsticks usually indicate the true level!!

You're the one slagging off other posters who can't see what you believe to be "obvious". I merely think you're worrying unduly.

On what basis do you think that I am unduly worrying?

It may have something to do with:
We have lost 3 out of the last four games
We have let six goals in the last two games
We rely too heavily on Collins and McDonald
We are facing two tricky away games in the next four days which are both losable on current form!
Our track record for bottling it when it matters is plainly there to see!
I've been watching the Blades for many many years and when there's a chance to bottle it we've usually taken it with both hands!!!

But, with the exception of the derby game, we have still managed to score two goals a game without McDonald. If the defence and discipline had been better, we could and should have won two more games than we have done.

Fiery me owd mucker. Sunshine band day art in Lundun t-morra. Few ales and lots of grumbling around kew and then more lambasting owt to do with United as we saunter into Brentford (maybe having an ale on the way) and then to the match. Grumpy and cynical chuffs only and absolutely no clapping! :D

Okay. You smell of monkey poo.:D

*Please not - This is meant as a joke, before someone complains that I've been rude and deserve mucho infractions for being bad. Of course I don't mean that Fiery Blade smells of monkey poo. I have no idea what kind of poo he smells of. It might just be his aftershave.

I've heard Gibbon pooh is the worst, I also dont know if Firey Smells of any kind of pooh or indeed if he smells of aftershave. As for me I am currently most likely to be found smelling like an empty bottle of red wine, I apologise for any inconvienience this may cause any of you.

My apologies. I thought you were being mardy when what you wanted was a debate.

I have no idea whether or not players read here, but I hope not due to all the negative shite.

I see United in an unusually good position for the time of year. One of the best positions (top 5 maybe) since I first started supporting my team. We have had a poor run of a couple of weeks. Partly it is due to missing McDonald (perhaps our best performer this season), partly mistakes (players/team and manager), partly other injuries and partly because teams have tried hard to beat us and done well. And these difficult results have left us where? Second with a game in hand. Hence I read your post as being overly negative to no useful effect.

On the personal points. I didn't slag you off yet I see insults from you aimed at others all over this thread and forum. And it is nonsense to insinuate that spraying the forum with negativity is a positive attempt to improve the team's chances of promotion.

chesterfield play huddersfield and mk dons this coming week
wednesday are away , never a good place for them
we have a spare game and a home game , with a near enough full team again
Macdonald is quality and any side misses quality , but we are still better than 95% without him, and our first choice defence
Defend , keep clean sheets , like today and your half way there

Wednesday have a very difficult game at Notts County next week. Given Wednesday's away form, County wanting the points to secure a play off place and their 4-2 win at Charlton today, you would fancy Notts to win that. If that happens, and we can beat Colchester and Tranmere, we could well have a rather nice 7 point gap over Wed by this time next week.

I reckon we will beat Tranmere and draw at Colchester and thus have a 5 point lead, which will be very helathy with only 9 games left.

be even more interesting if charlton lose again as if we win both well be only 4 points behind them
