Has anyone heard any of this?

All I've gleemed off it is that McCabe said he has put £50 Million in and will put nothing more.

Did anyone hear it in full?

Is he adjusting fan expectations or trying to keep prices and wage demands low?

Can't see how he has put £50 Million of his own money in to be honest what do fellow Blades think?
Wednesdayites and Beighton need not bother replying.

Can anyone post what he said?
Is it all on the iplayer?

McCabe is shrewd enough when speaking about things, i think investment must be on the horizon if he is speaking like this. Would be a bit silly otherwise. It would not suprise me if he has put £50Million quid in. How much of that he has got back is a completely different debate.

Hmmm I wonder if everything will happen in the next international break when we head out to Damascus?

A total sell out would be a surprise and I still think it will be an investment, as much as anything else McCabe's kids are lined up on the board.

If he has decided to jack it all in I hope the McCabe out lot are right about the grass being greener without him. I somehow doubt it.

Well as a fan I don't think I could actually give that kind of power up totally if I was in his position. I can see a partial sellout which is why he is saying investment, not sale.
That would give us the best of both worlds plus piss the Wendies off after their search for investment and all of Stappons guff about everything in place for Decemeber.

Its alreight he's put £50million in ............. what he forgot ;) to say is he's took £60million out !

:D:D:D:D:D

before yer start i'm only kiddin...... aren't i ? :p

He also said it was mainly in capital i.e. the infrastructure.

Not that I actually think you've listened to the interview, given that you can't even leave a thread alone which explicitly asks you not to post.

It wouldn't matter if you actually posted something substantial with a point and a reason to back up that view but you just post random crap based on nothing and designed to simply take discussions OT and to get on other Blades nerves. Congrats you've achieved you objective now please can you leave this thread for Blades to talk about the interview. Presumably those who have listened to it and have a opinion they can validate.

Why? Says who?

I don't always agree with what Beightonblade posts, and actually some of the posts and threads strike me as nonsense, but the last time I looked you weren't one of the people who could decide who can and who can't post on this forum. The two people who pay for and run the whole shebang are Linz and Foxy. Can't ever recollect seeing the name Flatulent_Bob anywhere on that list.

Unless of course the bit under your user name that says "Midland Football Alliance" is a new way of spelling "Administrator". Which it isn't.

I can't ever remember saying he couldn't post on the forum. However as I started this particular thread to discuss a topic I thought that might actually give me the right I try and keep it OT.
After all why post something for it not to be discussed?
This isn't a criticism of this forum but on some similar type places the thread originator has the right to delete posts which try to do this. It was a request for him not to take this OT, which he ignored. He's a troll who doesn't actually debate the point raised and just actually stops people posting because you can't even talk through the points. I don't have the right to delete these comments so I asked him not to reply.

Of course the irony of your post isn't lost on me either. You're not canvassing for a deputy badge are you?
I asked for him not to Troll this thread, he did it anyway. I wanted to discuss our chairmans comments and the thread has gone OT because of his posts.
What's the point of starting threads if this is what happens?

I don't think HE actually put £50M of HIS money in, but money from his business empire. It is my belief that the vast majority was in the form of loans, to be paid back OVER the base rate. His companies are in a bit of bother at the moment, as most are, and McCabe now wants the loans repaid to bail them out.
I haven't got a clue about his PERSONAL wealth, but I very much doubt that much investment in SUFC has come from that.

No, but you did say he needn't bother replying to this thread.

There you go.

Give you the right? Only you?

Well, yes, in some places they do.

If by troll you mean "pain in the bum who wiffles on and on and on about not much" then I concede you may indeed have a point.:D

What's the point?

If you don't like the way threads on here can often meander so far away from the topic you can't see it even with the aid of either binoculars or a spiritual medium then I can guarantee you hours of frustration and annoyance in the future.

Yes, BB can be frustrating, annoying and reduce you to screaming at the monitor, but you can choose to ignore his posts. Linz can tell you how to do it properly.

But asking or telling him not to post in a particular thread isn't down to any of us, and indeed will have the exact opposite of the desired effect.

According to the interview, if you believe him of course, he said that less than 20% was in loans which would be around the £10 Million figure we are aware of which was in share issues.

Quite honestly I wonder were SUFC would be now without McCabe. Whether you love him or hate him, trust him or not, we have become a much better club under his stewardship than previous chairs. The ground looks the best it's ever been, and although the teams struggling, we do have a decent squad. With new improvements to the ground coming, and a bit of luck with injuries and the ball, we could really go places. Well done Kevin. :)

I would agree with that, you just would of hoped his record would of bought him more credit with the fans.

EDITED FROM ANOTHER THREAD.

Property, in this case our stadium, is a huge attraction and is an investment which invests in the club long term rather than short term buying players.
You could say it is actually the actions of a true fan to ensure the club is here long term and in a position to compete with anyone.
A first class ground which doesn't require further development in the short term which generate millions through the enterprise centres and attracting other events is hardly nice to look at but useless. It's making money, lots of money and the further development will only increase this figure.

The argument is that money is going into the ground development rather than the first team squad. That has been countered with the long term investment comment. You might not agree but it does make sense, if I were in charge I wouldn't invest my personal wealth in playing staff it would be putting my money into what would be for the benefit of my team long term. I'd make the football side have to run itself to its own budget. Basically spend what the club makes itself without being helped out. Some would disagree and say he should put it into playing staff, he disagrees.

If you are looking for an analogy I would say it is more like a father who gives his kids the best environment to make there own way. Good stable home environment , good education, and let them make their own way in the world.
The other side of the coin is to bank roll them throughout their younger lives and then hope they appreciate it in the likelihood that he will be bailing them out for the rest of his life. At which time they are on their own.
The downside is that at 17 the kids can't have Vayron that he wants that his dad can easily afford. He can't run up massive debts at Uni on clothes and socialising although again his again can easily right off the full amount.
For me that is where we are and again in my opinion McCabe is making the short term harder choices, risking the spoilt tantrums (in our case from the fans asking why he isn't putting his own money in), for the long term benefits of a well rounded, self sufficient entity.

Fans are often fickle and don't see the long game. I don't know how much he's put in, but I bet it's a lot more than any fan.

I have just listened to what he said, and actually don't mind a thing of it, sounds to me like a man just trying to do best for the long term future of our club.

I am sure he must have the rights for the ground. Not bad land in the long run is it, but personally I don't think we would be anywhere without him and giving even the Wendies something to laugh at! Shame he is too soft when it comes to managers....

Its been no secret he's wanted out for ages. The problem is theres no investment in football for teams outside the top 4 really. (notts county being the exception)

The thing i find strange though is that if he wants out, then why did he say he would be making funds available for the team in Jan?

What KM means is that we will sell Killa for £3m and he'll then make £500k available to bring a journeyman or two in......that's the Blades Way.

just the type of comment / attitude thats making KM look to get out !:(

yes ............ but true.
I remember an owd sayin granny gert used to say:
Yer can kid sum of em sum of the time, but yer can't kid em all ..all of the time.
