Top 6 side.... explain why man.city arsenal man.u Newcastle spurs and Liverpool would consider signing him.
Explain why they wouldn't?

If Andy Carroll can play for Liverpool and Newcastle I'm sure McBurnie can.

Brilliant target man, does a lot of work off the ball that fans don't appreciate.

Given the right service he could easily be a double digits Premier League striker too.

He's out performed my expectations of him this season, I must admit, and overall i'm 100% happy that we've got him for at least another season.

I've been banging a drum on other threads/the box. If you look at targets, then next season 40 goals scored & no more than 60 conceded would give us a great chance of finishing 4th from bottom or higher. Last season Norwich (23 & 84), Watford (34 & 77) and Burnley (34 & 53) went down. Leeds (42 & 79) and Everton (43 & 66) finished in the next 2 places. The same kind of trend is being shown this season. Our first season in the PL was 39 & 39, the second was 20 & 63.

For me, with a 40 goal target to aim for, McB in the PL for me is no more than the 1st reserve forward/striker. The first off the bench. McB scored 6 in 36 in 19/20 and I can see him replicating this number.

It needs to be Ndiaye and a new signing. We need a starting front pair that can seriously trouble 20 to 22 goals between them. We have to grasp the nettle with this.

Thought the goal he scored yesterday was well taken, he has the potential to go on to a well established top 6 side.
This extended contract has almost guaranteed our survival.
Negativity breeds negativity, let's be positive about the upcoming season Dean. He's our striker he's our number 9.
Whilst I agree he's a good option to have. He's in no way shape or form going to go on to a top 6 club.

I would hardly describe him as a brilliant target man. The ball bounces off him far too often. He wins a few headers but is usually up against bigger, stronger central defenders. He couldn`t do what Jebbo did yesterday. His vision and choice of options is not that good. He isn`t that quick. For me he is a bang average Championship player if that. (puts tin hat on)

You are right I’m wrong.
He will flourish in the Prem next season and we will sell him for a big profit.
I'm not interested in being right.

I'm looking to call out negative bullshit about a player who has made an obviously big contribution to us going up.

You said McBurnie didn't deserve a chance to play in the PL because you think he'll fail. You backed it up with reasons that a) were wrong and b) would mean 50% of the squad aren't good enough.

You then moved the goalposts. I'm not saying he'll be a success in the PL. However I think his first season in the PL with us was a success, I hope his next one is and I'll be backing him whether it is or not.

It's fine if you don't like him. But you don't rate him because you don't like him, and that's what I'm calling out.

See you in 12.

I don’t rate him cos he’s a poor footballer and I and you all should expect and want better.

You are probably right.
Worth every penny of the £20 million.
The fact that no other clubs are interested in him tells us something but what do I know.
Exactly

Reading the comments of those that are slagging our players off at this point in our season:

I haven’t slagged him off this season.
I just don’t think he’s gonna do a job in the prem.
Not just him there’s other players too it’s just the nature of the game.
However the thread was called McBurnie and there was news he had just been signed for another year so…….

Which clubs were interested in Basham, Norwood, Fleck, Egan and Baldock after we went up in 2019?
Just leave that one there for you princess😉.
Don’t slip off your pedestal.

Our joint top goalscorer when we came 9th. I think he's knuckled down a bit and improved since.

A absolute no brainer than he would be in our squad next season

Not sure why you're getting personal.

If defending a player who has earned respect is putting myself on a pedestal then whatever.

A single tweet from a fake rumours account 18 months before we were promoted proves the opposite of what you think it does.

I'm sure you'll be straight back on here in 12 months time to celebrate failure, if it happens, having posted nothing positive in between. Exactly as you have done this season.

You are the one making quotes that I don’t like him and calling me out on bullshit so don’t you get all offended when i come back at you.
I don’t know him but I think for 20 million I can expect a bit more from a striker and am unsure why other people yourself included don’t think the same.
But again it’s raised that I don’t post regularly so I can’t have an opinion can I.
You are obviously one of the McBurnie clappers and that’s fine but I’m not so that’s that.
A disagreement end of but you are trying to be clever even now.
You say show me a single report linking a certain player with transfer before we were promoted.
I do and even that’s not good enough.
This is the reason I usually just read and don’t post.

Turning into an elder statesman of the squad, a leader and hugely there for his team mates. This leader quality makes him more than just the clown to have around the place, of a few years ago. He loves it here too, and you can tell he's a social glue of the group. He endears the quality Citeh lads to Bramall Lane life as well.

His purple patch earlier on the season, more of that please - and that volley against Luton was one of the most passionately celebrated of the season. UTB.

Because they both have better strikers and don't lump it.

McBurnie really needs to bulk up for me. His best spell for the club was before his illness/injury when he did extra work in the gym and knocked defenders around. He's far too easily knocked off the ball and outmuscled.

I would have him on a strength regime over summer.
