I actually think if McBurnie plays 46 games next season he will bag 20+ goals. Just because he can't step up to the premier league doesn't mean he cant in the Championship (Where he's proven)

Billy 'bagsman' Sharp had spent 15 years in the lower leagues,but at his best anyone would have him in the Championship.

In the last 50 seasons we have played 26 seasons in the second tier.

The following people have had 20+ goal seasons in the second tier in that time.

Keith Edwards, 20, 1985-6
Brian Deane, 21, 1989-90
James Beattie, 22, 2007-8
Billy Sharp, 23, 2018-9

I think it is more likely that McBurnie will score less than 10 than he will score more than 20.

I think he'll definitely score more than 10 goals in the league myself.. And 20 goals isn't out of the realm of possibility if the set up is correct and suited to his style. Let's not forget he's still relatively young.

If we get some good midfield players in we will be OK up front with McBurnie who has done it at Championship level with Barnsley and Swansea, hopefully Brewster can step up and make his mark again at this level too. McB did as well as the other strikers last season, this season none of them other than McGoldrick have done anything.
I'm putting it down to the abysmal levels of service coming from midfield, the strikers are not the problem at the lane.

In 18/19 he scored 22 league goals for Swansea. We’ll need to create a lot more chances than we have this season if he’s going to get near that.

He could, he has previous in that league as does Brewster.

To be honest, most of the squad who had such an abject season are proven players at champ level

You’re only listing the players who have managed 20+ goals for us in order to make it seem like a rare occurrence. Several players manage to do it each season, even Kieffer Moore managed 20 for Cardiff this season.

If he was to start 46 games I'd back him to score more than 10. Purely from the fact I'd expect the team to score 60+

44 players have scored 20+ Championship goals in the last 9 seasons. Most in one season is 9, least is 2. Only once (Gayle and Rodriguez for WBA in 18/19) was it 2 players from the same team.

I'd say a realistic figure for McBurnie and one I'd be more than happy with is 12-15 goals in 35-40 starts.

yes he did often doing his best work in that game dropping deeper and pulling our centre backs out of position got to be honest not a fan of his but think both him and brewster would benefit from playing in a front 3

You must have been watching a very different McBurnie over the last 18 months or so.

He can hold up ball
He can control the ball
He can head towards goal and shoot.

He just can't score goals in Premier League which is mainly down to the supply.

No I haven't- we will agree to differ.

I don't think he's particularly good at football and I really wished he had never set foot in Bramall Lane- you see it differently fair enough-

No one is going to buy him, so I hope he knuckles down, remembers really how fortunate he is to be on 30k a week (my God) and proves what I haven't seen- and that is - even a flicker that he's actually a pro footballer,so far total rubbish. And off the field so far a disgraceful idiot.
