I'll give him my support, I don't care if I'm the only one. Some may not agree with this but here goes. He's under scrutiny more than most of us can never imagine. We have no idea what happened before the incident and he's likely to have been goaded and then they're filming him, which I can imagine would further add to McBurnie's anger. Apparently he was goaded over our relegation, probably by Leeds fans if it's Knaresborough. At least he chuffing cares in that respect. People would be far more gracious if he'd scored 10 goals this season, he hasn't but that's not the main issue here granted. As I said before, he needs a mentor and someone to guide him through this. I'm sure there's stuff like that going on, but he may need more than someone like McGoldrick. We also have no idea of his background, his parenting as a child, his private life, and his mental health. Some may be shaking their head at that, but not all are privileged to have all of that being good and then thrust into the public eye in a performance based industry. The stick he gets from Scotland fans on Twitter for example is largely so over the top.
People on here very quick to call him various names and we're all anonymous. Well I'll tell you now my name's Robin Codina, find me on Facebook if you want, I'm on Wilder's Army too. I don't know Oli, but I do know that being a footballer has pressures I can't imagine and I can go out whenever I want and get no stick for it. I think as fans of United I want to give him grace, forgiveness and leave it to the club to do the talking to him.
I'll add I don't condone his actions if it's true, that is obviously important. There's standards to represent and without meaning to sound hypocritical, he does need to know that, he's not alone there though either.
