Probably the metrics you’d judge a striker of his skillset by in terms of role in the attacking third, role in build-up play, aerials won, chances created, goals, assists, wider role in the team, the kind of other stuff that isn’t measured by metrics. Also my eyes.
Fair enough about players not being good enough for the PL, but we have to get there first.Great, and yet both not playing the premier league or good enough if we get there. I thought we were going to be different. If this is sticking with wilder does, he can feck off.
Most of our first team aren’t good enough if we get there. So what’s the issue with signing players that have already got promoted from this division? Even if it means moving them on or demoting them to squad players? We did it with Norwood and that worked out alright.Great, and yet both not playing the premier league or good enough if we get there. I thought we were going to be different. I sincerely hope it it but there has been at least a couple of social media postings regarding him from the SUFC media team over the last 24 hours (I've seen at least two on FB) which might indicate that the 'rumours' might just have something in them.Jesus mate
Its only a rumour.
How much time has McBurnie spent on the bench last season? Has that got any bearing on his fitness? He’s been fit the last year.
Moore, McBurnie, Cannon, Campbell and Brewster/One and you’ve one department not to worry about.
Get Dunne and Mepham and that’s two.
The midfield is already very good.
Just need to decide on a system and perhaps add a winger or two.
Keep it simple.
AyeWrong......Dearden & Salmons
I’ve literally just given you the whole package. Why don’t you give an informed view on why he wasn’t very good? Bearing in mind how much he contributed to how the team played beyond just goals.Ok so which of the things you identify would you say he was “generally very good” at, because goals, assists, chances created he objectively wasn’t.
He can't run very well and couldn't trap a bag of cementI’ve literally just given you the whole package. Why don’t you give an informed view on why he wasn’t very good? Bearing in mind how much he contributed to how the team played beyond just goals.
I’m not sure of your point. This isn’t meant to sound negative by the way.How much time has McBurnie spent on the bench last season? Has that got any bearing on his fitness?

Nonsense. On a Championship budget it's not easy to sign 22 players guaranteed to take the PL by storm.
It doesn’t fall on me to do anything. I’ve been decent enough to give you an answer and you’re still just waffling despite your love of “metrics”.I believe it falls on you to back up your claim with demonstrable evidence rather than reel off a bunch of “link up play” “aerial dominance” vagueness.
If McBurnie was as good as you think he is, he wouldn’t have slipped off to Spain when he needed a contract.
Are you suggesting he’s not played much anyway. Or are you suggesting that flogging him to death week in week out hasn’t been done this season and as a result he’s been available more?I’m not sure of your point. This isn’t meant to sound negative by the way.

I think he’d be a good signing. He’s matured a lot. Him, Moore, Campbell and Cannon takes us to the top two in my opinion, especially as well have another striker in there too, be that Brewster or Oné.
As I said elsewhere this team needs tweaking, that’s all. Mepham, Dunne and McBurnie. Three starters at this level. All heading towards their peak period.
You need less reliance on loans then and you have tactical flexibility to play 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 with minimal adjustments to the XI.
You then need to replace anyone that leaves for good money. Possibly add another winger, given right now you have Brooks, Hammer, O’Hare and hopefully one of Cáceres or Nwachukwu making up a 4th or 5th option.
That’s it. Then have in mind players like Choudhury if Souza leaves or Morten if Peck goes or Rudoni or an out and out other winger if Hamer goes (for the record I think Rudoni goes to a PL club).
Having him on contract would alos soften the blow of buying him for 17m and seeing him leave for 0m!I’d love him to come back and smash it. Just feel if this is the direction the club is being taken by new owners and Wilder then we are not going to be very successful going forwards.
As for McB being referred to as a “Lane Legend” who the feck decided that?
AyeDivisive on the pitch.
Divisive in the boardroom.
You’d have to have a fuckin screw loose to want the chav back in the shirt !!
UTB
Makes no difference bench or not he’s injury prone -most likely when it suits himAre you suggesting he’s not played much anyway. Or are you suggesting that flogging him to death week in week out hasn’t been done this season and as a result he’s been available more?
This is what I'm thinking
Unless I'm mistaken, he's been on the bench a lot, hence much less chance of injury.
Brum reportedly making a bid
It'll be closer to get to Swansea for him from there tooCould be this summers ‘strap line’ …. If we ever get our act together ……
‘Gone to Brum’ …..
