Sounds like today was a bad one at Millwall, I've been really happy with Hecky so far but today I think he's made a serious error leaving out Berge, but worst of all letting McBurnie play 90 mins. The comments of fans who saw the game agree with me I think.
Nothing personal but surely Hecky must know by now he's flogging a dead horse - compared to other No 9s what does he actually offer us ? He's not a finisher like Sharp; he can't hold up the ball like Mark Hughes in his day: He has no aerial threat like Andy Carroll : he has no ability to link play like Harry Kane - I use these as examples of style of No9 - so , I ask what does he offer?
Hecky is trying to kick start his scoring by playing, but, in doing so he's wasting valuable games - and , what on earth must Jebbison be thinking! Hecky says he's getting up to speed in training, what speed does he need to be to get picked before McBurnie I wonder. Here is a lad who is athletic, sharp and hungry - in the next games it will be tight, we may only get a handful of chances - you wouldn't back McBurnie to take one, but Jebbison just might, we wont know unless we start him (like Hecky did in Premier League at Everton - remember?)
When we played Burnley in the play off final we had been on fire all season until Evans was taken away from us, Darius Henderson was injured and we ended up with someone up front (Scottish) Beattie, who was woeful - I hope history is not going to repeat itself ...!!
