So alarming to see Ndiaye go off yesterday clutching his knee. Has he damaged a ligament / cartilage ?Inevitable with our injury luck days after losing Khadra. Our goals have been so dependent on his brilliance. . As for mcburnie and Brewster anyone got the stats of what proportion of games this £40mm spend have been fit to play last two seasons? Got to be awful and does my head in. It’s always next week with Hecky poor sod.

Brilliant that we saw Brewster back for a spell off the bench last Saturday.

But, how do we eventually get him a starting shirt when he, hopefully, gets up to full match fitness ? Would be great with Ollie and Rhian firing on all cylinders up top, but who would we drop in that scenario ?

My guess would be Archer, steady start but dropped off a bit last couple of games. Competition for that spot alongside McBurnie wouldn’t do any harm at all.

UTB !

Would it be a surprise to see McB on the bench and some of the others starting ?

It shouldn’t be that nailed on. Should it ?

Let’s see how things play out and if any of our strikers can actually hit some sort of scoring “form”.

There are no other fit strikers And I don’t like us playing one up front.

Archer / Beni / Brewster / Osula should all be chomping at the bit to start games. Not just Oli.

As I say, let’s see who shows us some form before making pre judgements as to who should play alongside player X, who is a shoe in. Cos none of them have pulled any trees up as yet.

We need McBurnie for both boxes, unfortunately in the PL we defend a lot so his height is needed allover.

Agreed.

But if the trade off for this is playing a number 9 that doesn’t score, doesn’t press, doesn’t otherwise have pace power or movement to trouble PL defenders, has questionable technical abilities and turns over possession at an alarming rate, is that acceptable ?

What I don’t understand is how you could put Brewster on the bench for a game in Prem without any game time in the under 21’s first (from what I’ve seen) surely that’s a risk throwing him straight in like that with the pace those games get played at.

Brewster not yet fit enough to start and Osula injured.
Archer already in so only Beni to make any difference this week and possibly this month

Exactly this.

It's a real quandry that he's a poster boy for the lack of mobility, speed, agility we're getting hammered for every weekend at this level.

Yet he's arguably the most missed player when he's not on the pitch!

Who'd be a manager?!?!?

summed it up perfectly there mcburnie is such an enigma does great work in one 18 yard box but not much in the other 18 yard box but has to be in the team imo although im certainly not his biggest fan

who'd thought we be looking at McBurnie to fill that Ndiaye space. Not positionally but what he gives us up front. Hopefully Brewster will be his partner this season and we can finally get some points.

Archer seems to have already been written off in some quarters.

He’s here for at least a year, cost a tidy sum to bring on board, and is for sure the best finisher at the club.

He offers more down the channels than most as well so when we are looking for an out ball, he can help there.

I wouldn’t have signed this “type” of player as I have previously posted. Seems we did the signing cos we could get it over the line and was, perhaps, some way down our list of wants for the job. Almost certainly not our #1 target.

McB could be our new secret weapon…you’ve heard of overlapping centre backs. Could he be an underlapping centre forward?

Ummm…I’ve not worked out the details, but I’m sure it’ll work. 😜
