Poor attitude

Couldn’t care less

Doesn’t act like a footballer full of attitude and acts like a total cunt excuse language.

Wants to take a look at himself

Before anyone defends him look at points above. Not singling him out but he’s a waste of time. I can’t defend mcburnie anymore.

UTB Fuck it.
Not singling him out? Just the two threads so far tonight...

If people can watch that "performance" and come out of it singling out 1 striker, than I really don't know what to say anymore. Maybe football fans really are the idiots the non-footballing world make them out to be.

Months ago myself and just a couple of others made our opinions of McBurnie and his obvious lack of abilities known and we were absolutely slated for it, now people are finally seeing it, well except for maybe one poster 🤨

What we paying mcburnie for?. I don’t like slagging players off but fucking hell fire what you doing Ollie to justify playing 90 mins and 20k per week?.

Ah the weekly slag McBurnie thread off.

Prime Alan Shearer wouldn’t have scored goals in this team.

We have MUCH bigger problems than McBurnie. Maybe focus on those, even though it might not get you as many likes.

Wasn't part of the reason for our loss last night, so a strange post in the sense of timing. Although I do agree with the sentiment that he's not good enough, compared to the fee we paid for him, based on his time at the club to date.

I can half accept Mcburnies lack of goals, Messi would struggle to get 10 a season the way we play. I cant accept all the other stuff, looks like he's running in treacle, can't hold the ball up, ball constantly bounces off him, touch like Monty, takes 5 mins to close opposition down, we play like Wimbledon in the 90s when he's on the pitch. The bloke bores the shit out of me, I want a pacy, hungry, skillfull, shoot on sight striker not Connor sammon with hair.

It will have been around 18 months ago when I stated, in no uncertain terms, that what was evident and for ALL to see would become indefensible.

INDEFENSIBLE.

Some of you clearly have a unique take on that particular word 👍.

Keep up the good work (as amusing as it is) 😂.

Yes he does. I don’t fault his effort. It wasn’t a dig at him.

Being saying this all along. I can never figure out why Madine was binned. Would have cost £2 million max. If it didn’t work out, not the end of the world. But £17 million and it doesn’t work out leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth.
If we wanted a targetman, why didn’t we just keep Madine? Why try and change a player who isn’t one?

Your exact same points can also be aimed at Mousset unfortunately 😒

Look at his record for Barnsley and Swansea
Watch back out games against Swansea when we went up (he scored in both)
When he’s used as a footballer, rather than a human battering ram, he’s pretty fucking good
I don't give two tosses about his record for Barnsley, Swansea, Bradford City, Newport County or Garforth Academy!
His record for us is shite and never looks like improving and it's nothing to do with how he's currently being used!

It’s the way we’re playing him, and all the other strikers for that matter man, Christ 😂😂

£20,000 grand a week eh, well that makes him the best paid donkey in the league sorry to be brutal buy he’s not good enough sell him (if anyone will want him)
However it’s not just him though is it

I'm not a fan of his, but we played one decent ball into his feet last night and created the best chance of the game. What did we do for the rest of the game? Boot high balls in the air for him to try and win. If you asked Mcburnie if he'd been used this way at other clubs, I think you know what the answer would be.

I agree.
He was no worse than most and better than some.
His ball control is way ahead of half the team, but we persist in hitting it long in the hope he can flick it on

Haha, he can't trap a bag of sand. Unbelievable.

I don’t particularly rate McBurnie but last night was the manager’s fault. A threadbare squad because we’ve squandered our money, a refusal to change the system even when we simply don’t have the defenders available and a complete unwillingness to make subs during a game.

There’s only one man responsible and it’s time he said so. Then get on with it. We are well set up for next season.

By no means a fan of Mcburnie, but it’s not all his fault we are not scoring, our midfield play, and the creation of chance's is the main issue, Brewster, Burke and Mouset would thrive on the ball played through to them that makes them use their pace, and take a scoring chance. Sharpe and Mcburnie, need good balls across the 6 yard line. Our midfield and attacking full backs do not create chances, the issue is not that the forwards are missing chances, it’s no decent chances are being created

complete waste of 20m

The club’s recruitment policy limits us to paying these sort of fees for British players though.

To be fair, we signed him I thought it was a fair price in the modern market for a 22 year old who’d scored 31 goals in 59 Championship games (with relegation threatened Barnsley and mid-table Swansea).

Did McBurnie actually find Sharp with a pass or a header at any point in the game? I can’t recall but I don’t remember it.

One feature of their playing together is they are miles apart and never on the same wavelength. Mind you McBurnie’s positional awareness is very poor generally.

But this lump it to McBurnie crap is primarily the managers fault.

I defend McBurnie, not because I think he's been particularly good, just that he is constantly scape goated. McGoldrick aside, he's been no worse than any other striker. He's offered more than Brewster or Moose has at any point.

There's a reason than none of our strikers are scoring, and it's not because they're all awful. We simply don't provide them with any service. The only striker who shines is the one who drops deep to create things himself.

McBurnie isn't the reason we're where we are. Our strike force isn't really the reason we aren't scoring. Our midfield has been absolutely woeful. There isn't a striker in the league who'd have had a decent return in this side.

So the reason some defend McBurnie. Isn't out of loyalty, 'backing the wrong horse' or being 'strongbow dark fruits drinkers' (whatever the hell that means), it's simply not scapegoating someone for awful team performances. Pretty simple really.
