I think he deserves great credit for the salvage job yesterday. After the sending off it was one of those frustrating games for him where you chase down defenders who have 2/3 clear passing options and feed off nothing but scraps to get a touch of the ball, but he never stopped running about. Not only that, he also held the ball and laid it off well for the equaliser.

It's a testament to Cloughs judgement of a player that out of all the names we would've liked to have see come into the club in January we signed someone who never got mentioned or considered as a striker. He knows a bit about this football management lark doesn't he?

Could be a club legend if he plays like he does consistently. When players like him are not scoring they're helping the team in other ways which is great to see.

Looks decent. Did anyone notice his horrific miss just before we scored? He tried to kick it and head it at the same time and did neither from two yards out.

Done finished his game in quite a lot of pain yesterday. Looked like a sprained wrist to me.

Slightly worrying because an apparent sprain can easily be a broken scaphoid and 6 weeks in plaster.

Doom and gloom anyone? :)

Good to see McNulty stepping up his game aswell yesterday :)
No doubt Done caused that

Look at my thread, I asked Jim and he said he was fine.

He worked fuc**ng hard for the team yesterday with little / no service ( not surprisingly when down to 10 men ). Baxter owes him a crate of beer !!!

I think Done getting on to that short back pass changed the game. Yes, nothing came of it but I think that was the moment Coventry started collapsing.

think you are correct with that - was bemoaning the fact Done doesn't have a right foot as he tried to beat the keeper with his left when he needed to come right and away from goal slightly - but what it did do is give the crowd sudden hope that we could actually get something - rest is history as they say.

Was right by gangway B in South stand and the lady steward on the stairs must have been a Blade as she had a grin a mile wide watching all us nutters celebrate after the equalizer.

I always need something to worry about with United and of course they are very obliging virtually all the time but my biggest fear now is Done getting injured.

We have no one else like him (McNulty isn't as mobile as Done).

Maybe though, this is the year we have a striker bang in form as we all trudge up Wembley Way.

Just think, if we had signed eoin Doyle, poor matty would be plying his trade in Lancashire till the end of time.
I think we ended up with the best outcome to be honest.
Enthusiastic, strong with a good engine and the right age for a prime striker to make an impact.
If Baxter had not been a pillock yesterday then I think we would have won comfortablY.

I've just managed to catch up with the highlights and a few things are apparent. Firstly his lurch at the ball during the build up to the first is comical, but then he takes a right wack on his wrist and the moment the ball is in the net (we'll taken Doyle) he doesn't celebrate but bends over clutching his wrist.

Secondly his positioning for the second is very good, good lay off and not selfish as front men can be, and after he's laid it off he roles round the defender ready for a rebound. Good stuff

Speak for yourself, Deadly ;)

Spot on, Alcock was superb at Peterborough,

I for one was quite happy that Rochdale applied the same tactic, it meant thay weren't putting it into the feet of Matt Done like they did the previous week at Crawley.
