he's well thought of there, good move all round.

how much did we buy him for?

Rumours at the time I seem to recall was that it was owt up to £600k

Whether that was a smaller fee with add ons, or whether that was total BS I haven't a clue

Fingers crossed that's true. 100k would be a fantastic fee for him. But no doubt we'll give it all back by paying half his wages.

Good signing for them! He did well for us season previous. Yeah we may not have earnt a profit on the deal but he scored enough for him to be a decent signing.

Good fit for him, frees up a wage for us to bring in a striker.

Done plays first team football.

Good signing all round. I wish him all the best.

Odd. The Millers were and as far as I know still are very, very keen to take him but we stalled on any deal. Surely it couldn't have been over a few grand. Maybe wages were/are the issue?

More likely a desire on the players part to move back nearer to home, and the club being gratious enough to go with this.

He apparently had a four fold increase in wages when he came here and it was at the time that we were trying to buy promotion so I can see it being true. Any fee will go towards offsetting wages for the last year of his contract, awful signing, awful fee, never had a clue how to play as a striker typifies the daft deals that we have done in the past six years.
Thank good for wilder and the change in attitude he has brought to the club. Oh and we play decent football!!

God I hope this isn't true. I said he would be here and in the squad until August when he would go before the "window closed". Pinchy would have won. Hang on in there Doney, just a couple of weeks!

More likely that any fee (£100k ?) will be used to pay off Done and thus sweeten the transfer, where his wage will no doubt drop.

So sort of stiffed, but on our own terms !!!!

Got it,so it's bend over, pants down but loads of lube not dry.
Cool.

Not really. It suits all parties, because it's a transfer fee, it won't count as "wages" as far as FFP is concerned.

Thus frees up a wage for a player that Wilder actually wants as part of his squad.

Shame.

The Matt Done that first joined the club, with workrate, pace and an eye for goal would have been a useful part of the squad this term.

Sadly it appears that injuries have not been kind, and the Matt Done described above is no more.

I'll be glad if he goes for the reasons you give. I'll be much happier when there's nothing left of the abortion of a transfer policy we had before Wilder arrived.

Good move for all involved. He had a couple of important periods for us where he got some vital goals and his workrate created chances for others. Seemed like a decent bloke who did well as a striker when he first came and then was messed around and covered in different positions. Not good enough for this league.

Speaking to my millers mate about it last night says they inquired about him but were told they couldn't have him

Done was told he could leave and was stuck on the transfer list

If a club enquires, why would we refuse him his opportunity and tell them they can't have him other than not meeting the valuation, especially when he wouldn't be competing against us in the league below

Surely it could. Tufty doesn't want cash taken out of his pals' pockets.
