You mean Wilder really don’t you? 5-10 minutes of due diligence from anyone with half a brain would have uncovered that Doherty had been an Ex-footballer for a number of years when we signed him

The disbelief l got from my football friends when they heard we'd signed Matt Doherty , his career was over about 3 yrs ago, he's not been picked in an lrish squad for along time and we're not blessed with right backs, please tell me we've a pay and play contract with him or it's a complete waste of money and another unbelievable decision by our recruitment team

We had to sell three players

Money is tight.

Yet as part of the solution to this we feel that allocating around 4m in budget to Choudhury, Doherty and Ayew was the right move.

If you google their wages it returns the result that Doherty is on 55k per week, Choudhury on 50k and Ayew on 10k.

I hope that isn’t true. Imagine pleading poverty then spending 6m on those!

So it looks like we were after him 3 years ago, Wilder was determined to get his man! Now 3 years on we've signed another liability, why would you? Wilder and recruitment team - there were no doubt better (and match fit occasionally) cheaper, younger options in the Lower divisions but of course you don't trust youth! You really cant make it up!
