Same, he’s a bit of squad depth, so no reason to get excited or pissed off with this signing in isolation. It’s the lack of signings and improvement in the squad as a whole that is worrying.

We’re not competing with the Wolves squad this season, they’ve got players a level above what we have. They’ve been in the premier league for a long time and are now a first year parachute team, do you really expect to be shopping in the same market as them?

I think Doherty will be a solid additional right back in the Championship. What calibre of player were you expecting?

Have you watched him recently though?

Hes had injury and fitness issues recently. Has looked terribly slow and unfit whenever he has actually played and looks miles off the level of the player who got a transfer to Spurs.

As for loads of goals, he’s scored 6 in the last 6 seasons.

He’s available on a free from a fellow championship club for a reason. He’s not that player anymore.

If he was that same player he’d be no where near the championship. He still has far more top level experience than most of the squad and it’s a step down from the quality he’s used to facing. If he looked unfit when you saw him, maybe that’s because he’s recently come back from injury? If he’s fit now and has a good preseason, he might be valuable to us.

I'm not sure he's been brought in to play RB to be honest. He's not played there much in recent years and seems to have been used more as a RCB. Obviously he could still do a job there but I don't think it's his best position anymore

Can't do any harm to have some experience covering a couple of positions.
Hopefully can also bring a bit of organisation to the back line both in training and in game when required.
It looks like a Ben Mee replacement with a bit more versatility, definitely more risk prevention than progressive but we probably need a bit of both.

Its one of those signings where we will never know to true value.

If he has come on a low salary, to provide experience and back up then its absoltuley fine. If he is taking home 10k a week then as people have said its probably another 'Danny Ings' situation.

We won't be having derbies in 26/27 as that is the season coming. If this is the most depressing in your 64 years, then you either have a very poor memory, or you didn't attend that frequently.

Not necessarily a comment on this signing specifically, but why do the social media team feel they have to do the teaser tweet followed by a big reveal a bit later on for middling, back-up, no mark signings? Game’s gone, as they say.
