We can now bid for match-worn shirts from, I assume all our home games (& maybe away?)

https://www.matchwornshirt.com/event/21-09-2024-sheffield-united-derby-county

Current top bid is for Gus Hamer which is £252 (default setting is US Dollars which is odd) then Callum O'Hare on £203.

A click on the "Where the money goes" says:
The funds from the shirts will be used to continue the development and growth of the club and will be used for various different projects.
__Err... a bit Chancer-eqsue isn't it...? 🤔

I received the email and assumed it was a charitable gesture until I read through it. Don't think much of it personally

The club/Meadowhall Shop The Fan Cave is still selling signed merchandise in our club shop. Some of the stock could do with updating:

You're not wrong, who's paying £600 for Max Lowes Boot? Pigs didn't even pay that for actual Max Lowe.

Though I'd like to see the club clarify this... Is it the case that players change shirts at half time? As that would explain it.

It looks like it is a firm based in Brentford (In England) doing this. I cannot see anywhere that it is endorsed by United. They say they work with clubs to support development and growth, but nothing to say United are directly involved. I’m sceptical at the best of times, but this sounds like a scam, unless anyone can convince me differently.

The link I got was from an email from the Club this afternoon - they were also advertising this website at the game on Saturday.

Crikey. I've still got Rob Page's match worn shirt from about 20 years ago against Norwich, still got the mud on it. And he scored in a 1-0 win. And I was sat right in front of Delia in the director's box. I think it was 1-0 anyway and I'm sure he scored.at the Lane end, if I remember rightly. Wonder if Tom Page might want it, if he ever manages to tekkovva t'club? A snip at just £3k.

By contrast my kop worn hoodie complete with dandruff flakes is available for the modest sum of £50. Genuine article not a Crab knockoff.
You did but it from me though.

So technically it is a crab knock off…

Likewise I got the email but when I looked on the club website there was nothing to be seen. LIke Eddiecolquhounsleg, I suspected it could be a scam - it does still seem a bit scammy to me

Ok. But I have just been on Trust pilot for some reviews and it doesn’t look good. I would avoid like the plague. If the club are complicit in this sham, then I am truly disappointed.

No bids.

They have a first half and second half shirt. Particularly important with shite like Errea, as I assume after 45 minutes they are soaking wet through and pretty uncomfortably heavy.

Behind The Blades shows Moore giving his shirt away at the end of the game. Yet…

Maybe they change their shirts at half time though.

I fully believe this, but then it’s weird that there aren’t 2 ‘worn’ shirts available for many players, per game, and 2 ‘issued’ for the players that didn’t get game time. But anyway…

I will never understand the desire to pay for someone else's dirty washing. Getting the shirt for free is a kind gesture (well, I mean, it's not like the player couldn't afford to buy the kid a new clean one). But I generally shy away from things covered in another man's sweat (including your mum!).

Naàgh get the fuckers washed .... better shirts for sale at St Lukes!

Sounds a bit dodgy this site, money these shirts are going for on the bids (£247 for Cooper) you could buy at least 3 more shirts from the shop.

Then pay to have "O'Hare' and 10 printed on the back, put a signiture on it and sell 1 for every game O'Hare plays in one of those shirts for more than what you spent on 3 of them.
