This morning on the way to work at 8am in Meersbrook Park, looking towards the Lane:

(It's not a shit camera, that was the visibility)

It's currently improved slightly and the sky is brighter, but it's still coming down.

There's a polar bear wandering round in the back of the bottom photo if you look carefully. It's a chilly Armageddon!

It's now stopped and blue skies trying to break out at work, a mile away from the Lane.

Should be fine Shirley. Will have melted away before then.

Can't we afford to put the heating on now ? FFS bit of snow and the country grinds to a halt.

Why's that then? Rain? Snow? Those blasted water hogs? All's fine and dandy on my fair isle.

***Ignore me, just seen Foxy's weather update post. Water hogs it is.

Another heavy snowfall predicted by the telly weather forecasters for this afternoon.

Will the people who do the pitch inspection at 1pm consider if anyone can get there to see the match?

Didn't we have a game called off a few years ago because the roads and pavements around the grounds were unsafe?

Someone keeps giving the snowglobe a bit of a shake... but the stuff on the ground now is mainly slush and the clouds coming over don't look like they're going to yield very much at the moment.

I'd imagine if we do get another heavy shower, the 1pm pitch inspection won't be the final say but it wouldn't take long to clear what we currently have. It was just the timing of when it decided to chuck it down this morning that caused most of the traffic hassle.

My deskmate was 2 and a half hours from Meadowhead to the end of London Road this morning.

It'll be fine I reckon. It's mostly slush and there's heavy rain predicted for this aft to sort out the rest.

Took 25 minutes to get from Charnock to Sheffield station this morning. Mind you I did have a knobhead driving right up my arse down East Bank Road

The undersoil heating doesn't generally help with snow to be fair. It just melts it and potentially causes the pitch to waterlog so they have to be careful. It's main use is to stop the pitch freezing.

Why? If I was DW I'd have had the sprinklers on all night just to make sure.
