Well only the wildest optimist would now think that today's match represents anything more than a chance to leapfrog another team, in a step to as higher league finishing position as possible. However I can't help feeling if this was a relegation battle and we were sat in Derby's position and them in ours (occupying 3rd bottom as it were) with the same amount of teams in between and relative points differences, we would still manage to get relegated - in the 97th minute. What a shame these things never go our way. Been our own doing though in the last few months, but still going to be an excellent Championship return....

Anyway...

Any team news? :)

Clarke seemingly a likely returnee?

Otherwise keep it unchanged?

For the last home game, the lads chosen should be the ones that have achieved the good return..?

The likelihood of everything going our way this afternoon is slim, but IF we secure the home win over a good Preston side, we'll all be looking at the results with an air of hope. We need to go out on a high, and therefore I don't see the point in experimenting for the sake of it. Great Summer to look forward to, and hopefully CW is given the chance to make the recruitment he KNOWS we need, to take us that next step.....

2-1 Blades win, and a slim chance of taking the battle to the last game of the season...

Where pretty much every result will go wrong anyway :)

It would be good if we could watch the Boro v Derby game afterwards with a bit of hope, after all the other results go our way. But realistically the season's over barring league positions, so it's a low pressure game.

I'd like to see Leonard and Holmes start and I think they will. Brooks too. Will be interesting to see what line up Wilder goes with because there's a few dilemmas.

Possible Bramall Lane farewell for quite a few players as well, maybe even Sharp (hopefully not).

They deserve a proper send off anyway. It's been a good season, it's been a great two seasons.

Ive looked into my Crystal ball and all the results will be favorable for us this week and next, its essential that we win today and at Bristol City.

What a nice surprise that would be for the Blades.

2-1 to us. Really looking forward to this last home game and it’ll seem like ages until the first game of next season. Utb

No matter the result today, I will be cheering the lads during the game, and applauding them off the pitch. We came out flying at the start of the season, wavered a bit after the Coutts injury, but have held on to touching distance of the play offs for the last few weeks, despite some serious set backs, drawing games we should have won, losing games we should have won.

As Ricky says, we will more than likely be saying goodbye to a few players today, lets give them a send off they deserve.

Up the mighty Blades!

We need Derby lose to Villa and Brentford to fail to beat Barnsley in the other 3pm games. Then if Boro beat or draw with Millwall in the late kick off it all goes to the final day.

I'm going for 1-1

How is it final home league game of the season our 1st return to the championship in 6yrs has absoultely flown by. I think we can win today because in both games have been poor we were both off it in fa cup. But we scraped through & with pressure off hopefully we can see performances v Brentford/Cardiff instead of what we saw Millwall/Birmingham. Because current form isnt good we taken the lead in every game since the international break but won 1

Hope players get send off they deserve & disappointing last month does not overshadow what has been a great season. surpassing all expectations beating wednesday & wolves. Then the double over Leeds & its a great learning curve for next season hopefully with more strength in depth maybe 5 replacements we can last the season

Just want a win and decent performance to send us off for the summer in good spirits.

A real boost would be a post or pre match surprise announcement that the ownership saga has been resolved... but that would seem like cloud cuckoo land.

Last home game of the season and I've had to put the fleece back in my coat.

Wilder out!

Hope to see a few ‘new faces’ and would love to see Billy start the game.

We don't even need the Brentford result to take it to the final day.

You're right. They are home to Hull last day though, so we could do with them dropping points v Dingles today. Still, it will all be academic if either Millwall or Derby win

1-1, miss good chances, concede a sloppy goal. Not many stay behind for the send-off.

yep! Clarkey in for me. I'd also like to see Holmes. (And Watson if we have one?).

Clarke and Sharp up front.

Get Holmes on the pitch somewhere. I want to see what the man-bun can do! Don't drop Duffy though. No Duffy, no creativity.

I'd give the Don a rest. I'd leave Brooksy on the bench because he plays best for the last 20 minutes. I'd put Moore and Blackman in goal. Moore for the low shots, Blackman for the high balls.

Give Ched a go on the bench. Then bring him on for Sharp, or Clarke, whoever has missed the most sitters, in the last 20 minutes.

I'd also like to see Carruthers. I don't want him to play. But I'd like to see him.

Holmes not even in the squad. If he's not injured then why? Lad hasn't had a chance

Hydepark, only one possible explanation if hes not injured is he's not performing in training
