MATCH DAY THREAD: The Mighty Blades v Birmingham

So after the 'thrilling' events of Tuesday night, we now get chance to put it right in front of the TV cameras versus Birmingham. With only one win in their last 6 and truly awful away form, you would assume this to be real home banker. But as we know, they don't really exist, at least not at league level. That said, without the errors, but even at half the effort levels of Tuesday night, there's an excellent chance of us all being happy....

Despite Tuesday's blip, against a good Fulham side, we should have enough at home to see off a Birmingham side really struggling to kick off their season. Don't do them any favours Blades, and let's turn on the style for the cameras again... An exuberant 4-1 victory for me...

CW to be more attack minded after Tuesday nights cautious approach failed to pay off. Starts for Brooks,Clarke,Sharp Hanson & Donaldson. Clarke with another hat trick plus one each from Billy & Jackie O.
Adams to score twice for Birmingham and antagonise the United faithful by sporting a pair of Mickey Mouse Club ears resulting in Tyler Durden needing to be Gaffa taped in to his seat for his own safety. Withe comes off the bench for Brum & also finds the net. Cotterill resigns during his post match interview, Harry Redknapp immediately re appointed in time to assess what he needs before another spending spree in January.

Cotterill's Brizzle side played a very similar system to us so he might actually be one of the few managers who can figure us out, perhaps. Having the personnel to put any plan into action is another thing of course but I can't see them being this bad all season.

We really should have too much for them but like I say, bad feeling.....

I think there will be a period of adjustment after the loss of such an influential player, like Coutts. The next four or five games, anything could happen. I think we will push on again after this period of adjustment. So, in the light of that, I'm going 1-1 or another loss. I will not panic.

Just checked the SUFC ticketing site and it looks like the ground is close to a sell out.
So the club have now had to start selling tickets in the BLUT.

Seems certain today will be the highest crowd of the season.
Should be at least 28K, maybe even over 29K there today.

Regards the game Birmingham have scored 1 goal in their last 6 matches, they are the lowest scorers in our league. Also we are well overdue a clean sheet.

So I’ll go for a 2-0 Blades win.
