Is it still possible to park at B&Q on matchday without getting a ticket or be caught by NPR? I normally park up near Ecclesall Road but have a bike to pick up from Halfords after the Southampton game on Saturday, I don't want to get caught up in all the matchday traffic trying to get to there before they close at 6. Anybody know? Or have any suggestions of other parking in that area.

There is parking for £5 in the car park next to J E James on matchdays now? Only a short walk across the road to Halfords. Think most if not all the free parking around there has gone.

Park in usual spot, walk down to Halfords after game (be there shortly after 5), cycle back to your car.

We used to park at B & Q until they got keen. We still pop in prior to the match and one of their employees, who is an ex colleague of ours, asked us the other week if we had parked in the car park. We told him we hadn't but he warned us that they were still keen on catching non B & Q customers. As an aside, we often used to pop back into the store after the game to make a few purchases as I am sure quite a lot of other blades did who used the car park, so they may be cutting their own throat, though I can understand their stance to a certain point.

We get picked up from B&Q now and again. Its always empty. Its such a massive car park, I’ve no idea why they dont use half of it and charge a few quid to park up on match days. I’d imagine most people wanting to actually use B&Q would avoid it when we’re at home anyway? They could cordon off this bit I’ve ringed in red. Theres at least 170 spaces plus still at least that left for customers on the other side. Charge £4 a car and thats £680 for every home game. They could even give it to charity if they wanted to make themselves look good.

Incredible thread is this and now we find a fellow forum member gets picked up by helicopter, that's cool that is. Plenty of space to land KoppedOff 😉

Just to add on to this thread if I may.

Parking on the road side near Farm Rosd social, the bus depot, along near the Norfolk park goals etc. What is this like on match days. Permit holders only? Pay at the ticket machine? Free?

Does it get full early ?

Is it freshers day on Saturday? if so the traffic round Bramall lane before the match will be a nightmare , last year it was
nose to tail in every direction around the area.

There are 3 spaces where I park, if I drive on a match day, evening kick off usually, and it's always available, sometimes I even take up 2 spaces, save any damage.

Only problem is, those traffic lights only let about 3 cars at a time out, and one of them needs to be a Ferrari.
Imagine 170 trying to get out at the same time

Why not do it first? Pick the bike up, stick it in the car. Park where you usually park and go for some lunch.
