SouthportBlade listed 26 players in the first team squad (excluding RND, Coulibaly, Grbic and Flaxon). That seems like a pretty big squad to me. So who do we move on if we bring in another 3, or do we try and keep a squad of 30+ happy? I can't see that working.

Assuming Jason Ron Rucksack and Cooper sign and we don't lose anyone else, the squad is big enough. Being greedy, I would be tempted to try to sell Slimane to bring in another CDM and maybe loan out marsh and loan in an experienced striker. I guess we'll see in the next couple of weeks.

Some excellent signings so far, still need 3 at least to bulk the squad, didn't want Wilder back personally, but he should be able to have decent go at the top six with these, whoever has backed him needs credit too, it's down to the coaching and system now, fingers crossed

Agreed about 3 more ,CDM , centre half and a centre forward (but not squad fillers) l agree we need to move coulibaily,slimane ( he looked off the pace Friday night)
A lot of the youngsters need loans
The squad looks ok ATM but top 2 ? We'll see at Xmas
Maybe the new owners have the funds for some top signings in January
 
Wooooah, let's not get carried away just yet. Still no green confirmed tick next to RuckSack or Cooper...!!!

25 with 8 home grown so we're all good on that front plus the U21s which Arblaster, Peck, Marsh, Brooks, Seriki, Faxon all still fall within.

Must have at least one club developed player in the 25 man squad which again doesn't pose an issue for us with having RND.

Loanees even if they're under 21 count towards the final 25.

Signings have been great & we have a strong starting 11 but we definitely lack squad depth to date . As we all know the games come thick & fast in the Championship & injury & suspensions will take their toll on all clubs .
Still think there will be some comings & goings between now & the window closing so I think it’ll Sept before we get a gauge of where we are 👍
 
We're putting a lot of faith in Moore currently, I have my reservations about him but let's see how he performs in the next 2 league games before pressing the panic button.

I wasn’t overtly thrilled when he came back. Chris wilder will always have a place in my heart for giving me some of my best United memories. That league one season is one of the most enjoyable years of my life. It was before my kids arrived. I went home and away and spent a year pissed out my mind signing about some fella heading bricks. Just the way he left felt unforgivable at the time. He’s pulling together a decent looking side but it’s going to take something special for me to really forgive and forget.

I’d like to see us persist with the 4231 we played Friday but hopefully with a few wilder tweaks. The overlapping centre backs got people talking and was unique at the time I’m hoping he adds some unique quirks to this side as well.

The fact he’s acknowledged in interviews it was a mistake to leave is a good step in the right direction imo. I think the impact of covid and ultimately United losing all momentum took its toll. I think he accepts he made a bad move.
 



I think looking at todays squad it's clear we have zero cover! Good chance for kids to break through but that's extremely high risk!

If we are going for a back four then Souza is a must ,playing in front of the two centre halves , if we stick with a back three then he's probably not needed.
 
I’m confident we’ll be a top 6 team. Even more so after Wrexham game as it shows we have strength in depth i.e. peck. UTB

We definitely need another top level striker for us to be top 2 challengers.
 
He’s almost reborn at the moment….really feels like he’s got his mojo back & feels the love again. Never going to defend how he left us last time…. And I was sceptical about his return, but somehow he looks to have built an excellent squad full of energy, skill, pace and helped with some amazing youngsters coming out of Del Geary’s Academy.

After last season, just good to see a team going out who we can really get behind this season. Yeah there will be a few ups & downs…. But it’s exciting again. UTB
 
Cooper and Rak-Sakyi both in the stands tonight. With them, and big if, if we do hold onto Hamer then somehow this window has taken us from looking like we might drop down another division to being stronger than we were in the Prem.
 
When I looked at the bench on Friday night I thought the squad looked a little thin but those lads on the bench on Friday all played tonight as well as a few more so in the space of 5 days I've completely changed my mind, what with the new signings it's a very strong squad with competition in all departments, well done the academy staff, wilder and not forgetting hecky
 
Still need to find a CDM, Coulibaly was slow in the pass tonight (couple of real hospital passes tonight) we need 4 blaster and peck give the midfield legs souza is our only enforcer
Really pleased with souttar and trusty with Anel and JLT. we've 4 Centre Halves plus rnd and Alfie if needed
Slimane gained confidence as the game went on
But hamer looks rusty at times
