Marvin Johnson: Worst substitute in our history?

Johnson lost the ball yes, but we should have be able to defend the attack after that. Norwood and Stevens messed up. There was some awful defending today. I think for their first goal there was a terrible header by someone (and they headed it into the danger area instead of heading it clear).

It also looked as if their goals came from virtually the exact same spot in the area!

We should be happy with the point with that performance and quickly move on. We invite pressure on ourselves defensively and apart from Billy’s cross for second goal, our offensive play in their box is non existent and is a real problem for us.

He, like Freeman, didn’t do anything right all game. O’Connell was poor with the ball. Fleck hasn’t been himself for much of this season, he again wasnt good today.

We can’t have half of the team not performing simultaneously, because we’re not good enough to nick results. Everyone has to be bang at it every game, all season.

Unfortunately this is just not likely, which is why we’re sliding towards mid table again. When the bigger (or, richer) sides invest in January, as you’d expect them to, the gap between us will begin to widen.

The entire team didn't look comfortable with the way we went out to play, cutting out so much passing left us without any swagger.

Surely not the players decision to stop the passing?

Stevens missed a Simple tackle then Norwood tried to control a ball in his own box blame lies firmly with them. Play baldock aswell fat fat better than freeman

They were focusing on Johnson on Sky but he lost the ball in Rotherham's half. Stevens (I think) dived in when he didn't need to, and then the ball in was useless. It's going straight to Basham's foot. A bit of communication and we get away with it, but Norwood takes it away from Basham and it's a decent finish. It was a schoolboy goal to concede and basically summed up our performance.

Players lose possession in their opponents half all the time and it rarely ends in a goal if the bulk of his team are back defending. Stevens attempt of a tackle was farcical. I’ve not the faintest idea what the hell he was playing at, all he needed to do was stay on his feet and even after that mistake, their cross was shocking. Why on earth did Norwood jump in, why didn’t Basham shout leave it, they were facing each other? Bizarre defending at this level.

Substandard show all around especially some by some of our better players Duffy excepted, and Freeman needs dropping. I was amazed that he came out in the second half, he’s not been right since his first Wales call up.

And after saying all that, I’ll take an undeserved away point against a team in Rotherham’s current form all day long and move on. It’s happened plenty of times to us like v Stoke for I instance. I just hoped that this might be the day when we’d play really crap and steal a win but the wait goes on.

Duffy is the only player in United's team who can put his foot on the ball. Billy usually sticks his arse out to create some contact then falls over winning us a foul. One or ideally both is ideal when playing the last few minutes out. The reason we can't is because the pair of them are usually sitting on the bench at this stage of the game.
