Gone Elsewhere Martin Waghorn

I was surprised to see Fleck, Lunny & Evans.....3 players with little pace and more defensive minded...expected Woodburn or Duffy to start.....Leon was poor but he had little service... McGoldrick showed some nice touches but not much else.

Waghorn and Freeman would have been the difference today....

Did anyone else see us get to the halfway line and go ‘shit no pace what do we do now?’....we need a pacey player fast!!!

Nowt to do with speed up front, we are an all attack team - one who is 5 seconds faster will just be offside. We need players who can pass to dads army up front - they will put them away, as long as we set an intelligent midfield up for an attacking team.

Looks like they are going to take a lower offer than the 8 mill.......could be in with a shout here.

Paul Hurst's latest comments.....

After being asked whether Town will get the fee they were holding out for, the local newspaper reports that Hurst puffed out his cheeks as he considered his response, then said: “Erm... look I think we have to make a decision that we think is right.

Looks like a nay according to SSN (and the bloke who told me yesterday in the bogs)

BORO'S WAGHORN BID ACCEPTED

Middlesbrough have this morning had a bid for striker Martyn Waghorn accepted by Ipswich, Sky Sports News understands.

Talks have now started over personal terms and Boro hope they can complete the deal in time for Waghorn to feature in Tuesday nights’ game at home to sheffield united.

The news will come as a blow to Derby, who also want to sign Waghorn. However, because of Financial Fair Play, they were trying to sell Matej Vydra first, but his move to Leeds fell through a few days ago because the player couldn’t agree personal terms.

Once Bamford went it was a near formality that Waghorn would go to Boro. Wouldn't mind Fletcher from Boro mind.

And so it comes to pass...some other bastard comes in at the last and pays over the odds to get him.
Hope Plan B is ready to roll...we need a good striker plus a miracle that Coutts is back to his best and well ahead of the last schedule we were given!!

It’s not necessarily that our budget isn’t good enough...it’s just still the case that we need to stretch our budget further for more players than others.
Egan is no improvement over Stearman, and our wing backs struggle to put quality balls into the box.
The temporary Coutts replacements aren’t fit to lace his boots. I reckon we wouldn’t have signed Evans if Coutts hadn’t got injured.
Our strikers aren’t quick enough.

Still lots of work to be don’t for that side to be a play off contender for me

Clarke's unconvincing display yesterday has cemented my view that we should try to sign Gallagher.

Missing that threat of speed up front..

Correct.
