People keep talking about a 'bidding war'.

I'm not aware anyone else has bid, think it's more a case of brinkmanship and who blinks first. How bad does hurst want the money to rebuild or would he be happy to carry on as is?

He should know from Chris's history that he only ups his bids in fivers.

It's very important this forum learns the difference between Dronfield Blade and DronnieBlade.

Dronfield Blade is the one who has 'Dronfield' in his name. This is the one who's posted ITK stuff.

DronnieBlade is the one who has 'Dronnie' in his name. This is the one who's a striker expert.

OK?

And Blade58 is the old fart causing all the confusion

It’s very important that folks understand the difference between Ricky and Tufty.

One of them puts 1000 names on a shortlist of “potential summer signings” and the other manages a football club.

;)

But it's a well known fact Wilder refers to that thread for guidance.

And it's more like 100 names!

I think we all understand that. But he means well and keeps us all up to date with every player that is out there that has a pulse. As a timeserved Blade I also fully understand that “ it’s the hope that kills you” . Never get too excited about transfer rumours until they actually sign, and then don’t expect miracles. For every Fleck there are dozens of Cadettes , Guthries and so on.

What do you reckon to Southampton striker Matt le Gallagher?

I think he's lovely.

To be fair, Wilder and Mitchell's list of 'possibles' will be considerably bigger than mine.

And 4 out of our 5 signings were touted fairly early in that thread.

From someone who has spoken to Tufty tonight;

There is a bid on the table for Waghorn, that bid is the highest it will go. Wilder doesn’t value him any higher. They can take it or leave it. There are also other options that are being looked at. Wilder is hopeful of bringing in a striker before the windows close. He was very coy about mentioning names. Neither of the loan contracts force him to play the loanees and there are NO financial penalties if they don’t play. They earn their place like everyone else. Wilder was happy and relaxed about the season and we’re aiming for top 6 but there’s no problems if we don’t get it. The club is run properly so he can build his squad how he wants it and he won’t have to sell anyone if he doesn’t want to.

So, what was posted on Facebook then!

That’s strange because in yesterday’s interview with Radio Sheffield Wilder basically admits that there are financial implications based on the number of appearances Ben Woodburn plays.

But stresses there’s no pressure from above to play him because the penalties have been budgeted for and are affordable, so he’ll only play if it’s merited.

let's be honest, if don't bring a striker in then I'd be very worried.

9 goals from 30 appearances and people on here talk about him like he is mbappe

"Fanny Magnet said 9 goals from 30 appearances and people on here talk about him like he is mbappe. Well, Mbappe sounds like 'Mmmbop' the single by the band Hanson and Hanson is also the name of of a striker, James Hanson. That's right, you've just signed.. oh eck, I bet you'd rather have signed the bloody bin..."
