How many people have been surprised and delighted by this guy? When he was introduced to the crowd along with Marvin Johnson I remember feeling totally underwhelmed . Gary Sinclair didn't even get his name right , and most people were saying "Who?" But what a fantastic acquisition he has been. Solid, thorough, reliable, with no shortage of ability. Everything he has been asked to do he has done it brilliantly, & I have yet to see him put a foot wrong. He was a colossus in that defence yesterday , & his positioning sense is top class. Surely one of the best signings Chris has made?

Amazing defending yesterday and in previous matches as well.

He is certainly up there with one of the best signings Wilder has made especially if he can continue this great form.

This was the kind of signing that had me worried at the start of the season but the squad players have all been immense when called upon. For as little as he's played relative to the first choice he's got us through some huge games. I was wrong, those are the kind of signings that have made us a step above what we were last season.

I saw it all coming with this avatar.

*I obviously did NOT add it as a sarcastic dig at Wilder's negative substitution at Villa which I thought cost us the game.

I would certainly start him in all of our remaining away fixtures (sadly this does mean Basham on the bench).

At home - I’m torn. I’m leaning towards saying we should start Basham in all of our home fixtures due to his superior attacking prowess and bring Cranie on with 20 to go - if we have a lead. But then part of me also wonders whether we would be better served starting Cranie, staying ultra-solid at the back and trusting that our attackers are good enough to nick a goal (or two) at the other end of the field (as we have been doing).

What an important part he’s played this year. Superb.

There were times yesterday too, that David McGoldrick was running around on the edge of our own box, chasing and harassing Leeds players. His defensive work rate has been phenomenal and something I really did not expect from him. For all the talk of Leeds’ fitness levels and incredible press, there was our ageing, supposedly injury prone playmaker putting in one of the biggest shifts on the field.

I never saw this side of his game in the numerous times he played against us. He always struck me as a languid, skilful type but without the work rate to play at a higher level. It’s really hard to believe he had so many injury issues at Ipswich when you see how hard he works for us.

He’s been another incredible addition.

If attacking prowess is what you're after then think no further than chasing down that overhit pass and getting a cross onto Kieran Dowell's head. That pass to him was so bad I didn't see the goal as I'd looked away assuming it'd gone out for a goal kick.

I wouldn't want to have to choose between Bash and Cranie right now. Happy problems to have!!

Hes tasted promotion too. Like a few have wilders not daft top signing

We were saying last night, having got back from the game and watching it all over again on TV, McGoldrick doesn't half cover a lot of ground for an injury prone player.

When we signed him I thought it was another player coming towards the end of their career earning a few bob and as an occasional back-up. Was part of the team that bowed out in shame against non league opponents but since then has become a solid and vital member of the team. Had the likes of Hammond etc applied the same ethics, well who knows. Anyway, well done Martin, you deserve all the plaudits.

Lundstrum was ok when he came on as well, Edna had a quality game and Sharpe was a handful all afternoon.

Is that an actual assessment or is there some sarcasm there? He came on after 92mins, did he touch it?

Wilder's signings have been fantastic this season

Egan, Norwood, Henderson, McGoldrick and Crannie, have all been top notch signings, probably in that order.

Madine and Dowell are also playing a part and I wouldn't be surprised if Hogan doesn't end up scoring a vital goal at some stage
