He'll score loads. Don't like him for the things he's done but he's served his time and banged in 14 championship goals last season

Well the good news on that front is he's had some recent football, starting for Jamaica just over a week ago in his return to international football.

The bad news is that paired alongside Luton Shelton (who was a constant threat apparently), he did not impress in a 0-0 draw with Panama.

He [Shelton] made a couple good link up plays with King, who was sluggish and looked a bit overweight, lacked cutting edge and ended up being ineffective as he lost the ball on a lot of occasions.

What's up, has Weir found out that we don't have enough "game changing" money to sign some footballers that don't come with any baggage?

Perhaps Weir has allowed him to train with us to keep fit??

Hope we can get something sorted. Different class to our current strikers and if we can sort the supply line issues out, I'd expect him to score at least a goal every other game without any problem.
 
Probably shows that we are to get no where with the Coventry pair.

Also shows that the investment will not be forthcoming whilst we are languishing at the bottom of the league in relegation trouble - that and the probability that nobody will want to move to a club in such turmoil unless there are signs of improvement and therefore stability.
Why on Earth would you want to move to play for David Weir if you thought he was going to get the tin tack in a couple of weeks time?
 
Surely Marlon King shows that investment IS forthcoming. He's still Championship quality even with his baggage.

Inevitable goals aside, I'm greatly saddened by this signing.

I SHOULD be saddened. I WANT to be saddened even. But I can't be fooked. I'd welcome George Osbourne being given a Fireman's Lift by Jeremy Vine if it meant we'd have more presence up front.

If there's a rumour there is a Blades58!!

There is game changing money otherwise we wouldn't be able to sign King, never mind Baxter and Cuvellier before that. Not sure why people keep saying there isn't. There isn't a chance in help at a Saudi Prince puts his name to anything without it being real. They don't do the shame of failure and bringing the family name into repute.

We need his experience and finally Weir realises that. I am all for the likes of Clarke and Freeman etc; however we need to get the motor started. We can't attract them at the moment because even Coventry are doing better than us.

So you need to believe there is money there and let King come in, unless you would prefer Ironside, Porter or Taylor to continue as they are.
 
Maybe this signing also signify the end of the recession and a cure for aids or maybe not
