Today was when we realised we’re in a fight for our lives in the league and the club.

These new owners have no clue and no money - if they did the new training ground would be being redeveloped - they’ve not spoke to us about any sort of strategy or plan, because a - they have none, AND b, they have no money to put one in place.

Alarms are ringing and I hope we aren’t as passive as that lot across the city to let it get to a stage where we’re on our knees with begging buckets out.

Yes it’s that bad, mark my words.

My fear is they start selling off the assets to get some of their investment back before selling us on.

We're on a downhill trajectory and the ownership seem to have no clue what to do in a football world.

Some reassurance from them would be nice. Unfortunately all we get is an occasional interview from Bettis with his platitudes.

It’s really taken you this long?

Throw in the fact that we have no chance whatsoever of going up, have a chance of going down and next season have no parachute payments so will have to make cuts like buggery, aye it's a bit of a shitter really innit.

I can’t stand Bettis, it’s his fault we have his feckin mate back in charge

But he's not a football man, mate. If the club are really relying on Bettis - an accountant - to make such crucial footballing decisions as appointing the next manager then we are truly knackered.

The owners just have to bring in a proper 'football man' to lead the club. Nothing is going to improve until a solid management infrastructure is in place.

Hang on, Princeh swore blind he'd only take 100 mill from people comitted to taking us forward.

Charlton at home was when I realised

Blaming Abdullah because the new owners are shite is a bit of a stretch. He tried to sell us to Dozy and FBI Mauriss, he didn’t really care as long as he recouped his cash.

It’s down to the EFL to prove funds and a plan for future. assuming COH have said funds it might just be that they’re really shit at deploying them.

I don't feel like COH are shortchanging us or not prepared to spend. We've bought in loads of players - mostly garbage - and they've bought the land at Dore.

What they have done wrong is taken very bad advice from the wrong people in terms of appointing managers and a hopeless recruitment team and policy. Their communication is also diabolical.

They are making the same mistake that Chansiri made when he took over Wednesday. That is worrying.

They didn't buy the land in Dore, that was already done when they bought the club. They are showing little intent to develop it.

COH are the problem here. Wilder, Selles, Bettis etc all have played a part, but the ownership have made some appalling decisions.

They are typical yank business people who thought they could come in, see a promotion and flip us to make a quick buck. The issue we have now is as just a business in their portfolio we may well left to rot. We are one of the ones that just didn't work out. PE and VC investing is just a numbers game.

Bringing in decent players would cost them money, that's why we got mostly garbage,we got told before the season started that the budget the owners set left us looking at frees and loans, why would these chancers take us over when they have no money to take us forward?

This is the frustrating part.

They’ve spent money to make us shite.

A summer could have seen something along these lines (some figures are guesswork):

Signed Dunne - 0
Signed Darling - 0
Signed McBurnie - 0
Not sold Moore - -2m
Not sold Robinson -200k

Not signed McGuinness +5m
Not signed Tanganga +7m
Not signed Chong +2m
Not signed Matos +3m

I reckon we would have been better and not far off 15m better off. That’s notwithstanding the awful loan signings of Bindon and Barry and Godfrey.

The recruitment group almost got nothing right in the summer and that’s not including signing one guy and moving him on a few months later and the other 3 not making the team at all.

This isn’t going to be fixed by management. It needs to be fixed either by a strong window or Hamer and Arblaster coming back flying.

If things don't improve somewhat the only flying Hamer and Arblaster might be doing is out the door in January!

Hamer - 100% - he may even go back to Holland where he wants to go in January

Arblaster - very much depends on his fitness - Prem clubs will want to see him have a long run of games. So might keep him until 2027 if we are lucky

Both those fixes are the football equivalent of walking a tightrope with the L1 drop underneath, both options are unlikely scenarios IMO,asking 2 crocks to come back and kick backsides into action on the pitch is unlikely, given that one of them has dropped off levels below what he showed last season, the recruitment we already know about from the past, might only be fixed if we can pick up some PL stars in the making who's clubs are willing to let go to a relegation battle rather than join some team looking at play offs or promotion,so that seems even more unlikely than Hamer and Blaster.

You are absolutely right about all of it... except developing the training ground.

Yes, it needs doing, but them lumbering the club with debt to develop it, at this stage, would be terrible. They aren't fans, they aren't doing this for any sort of personal pleasure other than ££. They will only invest if it grows their return.

If we got promoted and had a windfall. It would be a good investment. At this stage, we might end up in league 1 with a fancy training ground and no money in the bank.

They have got money, but I don't see them throwing it around like some owners. They definitely gambled on promotion last year. Now surely the aim is to stabilise in championship, but they didn't realise what a competitive league it is and how any game can be won or lost.

Everyone was tipping Charlton to get smashed all season, now they aren't. Same as Southampton aren't actually that much better off than us!

1) Money, they've obviously got money, just look at how much we've spent in the last 2 transfer windows (last time we spent like that was our last PL season), the argument you could make is that maybe the money hasn't always been spent wisely.

2) Communication, yes communication between the club and the fans isn't good but it wasn't much better (if it was even better) under the Prince.

3) Decision making, yes they've made bad decisions, as every owner does, but hopefully they'll learn from those mistakes, which I'd say they did by going back to Wilder.

Are they in it for the money and did they gamble on us getting promoted last season, yes and yes, every half decent owner would do the same thing in that situation.

End of the day, it's their responsibility to make sure the club is sustainable in whatever league we're in, which will become more important next season when our parachute payments run out.

Putting it another way , we are less than 12 months behind the pigs in terms of hitting rock bottom , relegated or not.

Just to repeat for about the 30th time, they cannot redevelop the training ground. They do not have planning permission and nor will they get planning permission until they have sorted out the cricket pitch situation with Sport England. They can use the exisitng football pitches, they can relay them, they can train on them but they can't develop the facilities until that matter is sorted out.
