Why do we 'need' a head it kick it CB?
Maybe we don't actually need a head it, kick it CB (in a sense of just having someone who's only good at that), but we'd still need that height and physical presence in the box.

If we don't have that, every big physical striker will be rubbing their hands together if they see us lacking a physical presence in defence.

Millwall game was probably the best example of this.

Where Godfrey, Bindon, Robbo, Burrows and later Seriki when he came on (none of whom have that presence) got bullied for the majority of the game by Ivanovic and Coburn.

I think we are sacrificing tanganga for this clogger. Tanganga is a better defender / player but when he joins the attack (and tbf he does his best to)...we see his limitations. We should leave him to do what he's best st

Seriki. That would also allow us to have at least one player in the squad that is capable of taking a man on. Ogbene being quick and dangerous is a complete myth.

I love the lad, but he makes Tom Davies look like an ever-present.

Sadly, I just don'r see his body being up to a long term football career.

Available for the right price?

IMO, he's a decent Championship CB, not as good as Tanganga and Mee but good enough.

Would a fit Souttar replace him in the middle of that back 3? Yes, 100%, Souttar is a better player

Would Robbo or RND replace McGuinness? No, he's an upgrade on both of them, as is Mee

Regarding tonight, if McGuinness was injured for their 3rd tonight (at which point we still had subs) and CW knew that and still didn't bring Bindon on, that should be a sign that we'll need some defensive cover for McGuinness himself.

Other than McGuinness, have we got another big head it-kick it CB that could play that middle CB role? Zätterström has the height but none of us have seen him play, and neither Bindon or Godfrey are that type of CB.
Wilder would have had to have been quick to get a sub in in the three seconds from McGuiness going down to their goal being scored
Particularly as there was no stop.in play and you can't just teleport players where you want them

I'd say ogbene and seriki are about level pecking just ogbene has more of a natural attacking threat

100% agree with you tanganga looks so much more comfortable in the centre and much better quality than mcguinness seriki should be given another chance at rwb much better than ogbene and for me has been singled out unfairly by wilder when others have been worse this season

Fair enough, but he could have subbed him off after, rather than running the risk of aggravating the injury.

My god, he is the worst CB I have seen at the lane since god knows when. Positionally terrible, technically terrible, anticipation terrible, decision making terrible. Who saw him play and thought yep, there's a top championship CB?
The only positive is he isn't as daft as Jack Robinson. A low bar.

The entire defence is all over the place every game.
The midfield is all over the place every game.
The forwards are all over the place every game.
The manager is.......
Yes cos wilder plays a CB at right back so he can have that fcking belisha beacon in the centre of defence. It fcks the balance of the wbole defensive structure.

Ruben Selles.
Was it Selles or was it our owners? Lets face it, if Wilder had just remained manager after the play off final we'd be top 6 now. We are where we are because they wanted to change direction and they've certainly done that. Now Wilder is stuck with a load of new players he doesn't want, who arent good enough.

The blame lies firmly at the door of the owners. People wanted rid of the prince. People wanted rid of Wilder. Now here we are.

Based on what? We’ve simply carried in the form from December. It’s fanciful to think we’d be in the play offs.
